I'm so furious!! Tell you why... read here.
One day I came home after hanging out with my friends and I was in a good mood. but hey guess what, I saw something that makes me want to explode! ''
I saw one of my most treasured and most expensive DVDs, The Beauty and The Beast (which I spend a lot of money on since it went out of print so I had to purchase it from Amazon at a big price), on top of the TV!!!!!!
This may sound insane but I hate when people touch my DVD's. When a person besides me touches them, thery're actually hurting me and really badly. -Th Slipcover was mssing and I then found it on my couch..... I was so angry, then i found out my sister touched it without my permission from my drawer and also my Godfather dvd collection.
Does anyone think there's something wrong with me??
Is anyone else obsessed with their Disney DVD's??? The only reason I get angry is because I only have one copy of each and they're very rare, so I take extreme care of them--and did I mention it had a scratch on it??? (':x')

I'm far from being that posessive. My dvds are out in the open and free for anyone to use. Thing is, my parents won't touch them 'cause they really don't sit down to watch movies at home, and they're the only other ones around. My older brother is the only one who borrows on a regular basis (he has my Aladdin dvd right now... only 'cause I offered), and he's more than competent with handling them.
Life often leaves us standing bare, naked and dejected with a lost opportunity. Over the bleached bones and jumbled residues of numerous civilizations are written the pathetic words: "Too late."

I only get that possesive with rentals. Having my only sibling being 13 years older than me is a perk, because it's just me and my parents. But one situation when my friends spent the week at my house did this thing start...
Okay, couple years ago during summertime, my friends were allowed to come over everyday for one week. I had rented a couple DVD's from the local mom and pop Video store for entertainment. So on the third day, my friends came over and saw I had rented Harry Potter and Max Keeble's Big Move. They didn't realize they were rentals(the local store rents them out in their original packaging) and I usually just let them borrow stuff without them asking me, so they took them home. Here's when it gets really bad. These kids are the three oldest of a family of six, so they get home and the little kids think their mom bought the DVD's, so the 8 year old, Nathan, lends them out to HIS friends, who end up breaking them. So after three weeks past the due date, I'm freaking out not knowing my friends borrowed them, my friends are freaking out that the DVD's disappeared, and some kid they lent the DVD's out to ends up using them as frisbees and breaks both DVD sets. One week later my friends get them back and blow a conniption fit. I, the whole time, didn't know what happened. So as the video store starts breathing down my neck, my friends come back with the broken DVD's.
My face:
>>>
<<<
I freaked out. So through a very complicated stage, the video store makes me pay full SRP for both DVD's and I end up pulling the money out of Nathan's friend's fat DVD breaking ass.
Now when I rent DVD's(and when my friends borrow DVD's), we go through a strict security system:
1. DVD's only stay out one week at max.
2. DVD's stay under strict fullout lockdown in private sections of our bedrooms.
3. If my friends borrow DVD's they have to ask me first and promise should anything happen to them to buy new copies if broken.
*phew* That was long. I think I'll put my hands in ice now.

Wow...some people really are possessive. Got mad just because your sister took your DVD out and watched it? It'd be understandable if she was, like 3. So how old was she?
No one ever wants to borrow my DVDs, cause they're either old movies, Star Trek (or other sf), old TV shows, British TV shows, or romantic comedies. So I really have nothing to worry about.

She's 17 years old and she don't take care of nothing. she thinks you can find those rare DVD's around the corner at a cheap price. She can use other DVD's such as thelord of the rings or suttin else, but not my Disney DVD's. I takecare of them a lot and I know nbody takes care of them as much as I do so I don't like when other people touch them.Escapay wrote:Wow...some people really are possessive. I am the youngest in my family so I don't have to worry about some little sibling twerp messing with my DVDs. But even if I did have a little sibling twerp, he/she would probably have been brought up to have respect for other people's property.
lolopimp, you should probably give your sister a stern lecture or at least tell her how much they mean to you and if she is evil and doesn't give a crap then lock them in a glass case (so everyone else can admire them) and keep the key on your person at all times.
Just Myself...good plan!
You should give them "Just Myself's DVD Collection" borrowing cards and charge them if they are overdue.
Overall, I'm with Paka. It would be so much more valuable (not moneywise) if you share the joy of Disney with others. Then again, I was a little impatient when I lent my Finding Nemo to my aunt right after I first got it

I remember that, Kram. You called her, like, every day asking if she's finished with it yet.Kram Nebuer wrote:Then again, I was a little impatient when I lent my Finding Nemo to my aunt right after I first got it.

, and i went upstairs and I saw my 18 years old with all his 18 years old friends and 5 girls (firends of my brother) they were wathcing Beauty adnm the Beast.
I have two beuty and the beast the mexican and the american edition.
The mexican edition is for watching it and the american editions are my treasures!! I had beauty and the beast like new.
My brother was wathching the american edition!! the disc 2 was on the table the inserts were throughout the room and the slip cover

Oh I forgot to add. My family also has the mind set "Everything is ours. No Yours, Or Mine just Ours. Like the movie title Yours Mine And Ours". My family doesn't let me lock my room, and they won't let me lock my stuff away. My Video Collection is in cabinets in my room. My DVD Collection is neatly organized on my huge Window Seat.Disney Guru wrote:Escapay. It is the same with me. LOL yeah. Just Myself Video, $1.99 rental fee, due back after five days, late fees are $3.99 and you have to sign a contract stating that you will pay for a new one should Nathan's curiousity be aroused.Kram Nebuer wrote:Just Myself...good plan! You should give them "Just Myself's DVD Collection" borrowing cards and charge them if they are overdue.
Hey I actually pulled this on my friends today... they actually bit for it!
