Well, I watched
Tarzan a couple hours ago. I'm getting through the DACs I haven't watched in a long time, and I'm almost done!
I absolutely adore
Tarzan. I have a hard time ranking the films, but this one is definitely up there for me. I laugh, I cry...and cry some more.

I love the animation. Tarzan is my second favorite Disney human boy; I just really like his character- I love how the human world is so new to him, and how he is just confused and is learning so much, about being an ape and a man. And of course the movie is so lush, the animation is so great. I really do love the story- even if you know everything that happens, it's still funny, sad, and exciting, at the correct moments (ya know...that parts that are supposed to be funny are still funny the umpteenth time you watch the film...or at least the umpteenth time I watch the film!).
The music is some of my favorite Disney music, along with
Oliver and Company and
Pete's Dragon. I don't know what it is about it; I'm just very drawn to it.
Something I noticed while watching that I had never noticed before: Near the beginning, in the elephant hair scene, there is Terk and her two male ape friends. They turn out to be wimps, and Tarzan isn't. Part of what I'm thinking could just be Tarzan's character, who he is, but: Does anyone find it interesting how Tarzan is the one to take over for Kerchak? I mean, sure, Tarzan tried saving Kerchak. What I'm trying to say is, I'm not sure what the male to female ratio is as far as the younger males (meaning non-Kerchak) to the younger females (meaning Terk and her generation, not the mothers). How many other males were there (we know that there are Terk's two friends, but are there others?)? If Terk's two friends were the only other males in the family, then we can see why Tarzan stepped up (but that could just be his character, being brave and doing the right thing). I just wondered that while watching the movie.
