Movies from the rest of 2004 you're most looking forward to
Movies from the rest of 2004 you're most looking forward to
My top 3:
1) The Incredibles - Just a little over 2 months for our next fix from Pixar.
2) Ocean's Twelve - Enjoyed the first one a lot, and the principles all returned for this one, so I'm hoping it doesn't disappoint.
3) The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou - I was interested in Wes Anderson's next project pretty much right after I saw and enjoyed The Royal Tenenbaums. This one has Bill Murray in the starring role, which just lifts my hopes so much higher. I just saw the trailer and it looks good.
Beyond that, I'm interested to see Meet the Fockers, but my expectations aren't too high. And Polar Express could be interesting, I guess.
This is kind of my "One Year Later" update thread to this, when the forum was still in its youth.

Well, I didn't think that there were many more movies coming out this year that I want to see, but then I started naming some to myself and I was surprised by how many there were.
The ones that I really, really want to see are The Forgotten, The Incredibles, and The Polar Express.
Other ones that I'll likely see in theaters are A Series of Unfortunate Events and The Spongebob Squarepants Movie.
And then the ones that I'd like to see in theaters but will more than likely not see till DVD are Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Shark Tale, Christmas With the Kranks, Finding Neverland, and First Daughter.

I was talking with my girlfriend the other night (who is also a big film fan), and we were saying that there isn't a lot to look forward to for the rest of the year.
Of course, I'll see Hellboy and Alien v. Predator (which come out over the next few weeks here), but beyond that there is nothing that really floats my boat.
The Incredibles is one I always forget about, so I can't say I'm that excited! But I will definitely go and see that one...
The Life Aquatic doesn't come out here until January (I think), but I really look forward to that one.
To be honest, there are more DVDs coming out I anticipate that films, and most of those DVDs are of older films!

The Incredibles is probably the only movie I'm guaranteeing myself a theater trip for during the rest of 2004. Taxi may be a 2nd.
I'll also consider making one for Finding Neverland and The Polar Express (likely a matinee for both if I do). Meet The Fokkers was a must-see for me until I saw the teaser, which really lowered my expectations. I may end up seeing it in theaters anyways.
Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events and Christmas With The Kranks look like good rentals, but not much more than that. If I hear good things about Kranks, I might go see it in theaters, just because I love Christmas movies.
And then there's Oceans 12. In reality, I will probably get suckered into going by friends, although I think the original is extremely overrated.
EDIT: The jury's still out on Batman Begins.

September:
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow
November:
The Incredibles
Alexander
The Polar Express
December:
Ocean's 12
Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events
It kinda sucks that's there's nothing in October (my birthday month) that I really wanna see. Shark Tale and Finding Neverland look mildly interesting, but I'm not as eager for them as I am about the movies above. It'll be very interesting to see how the three CGI films hold up against each other.

I'm looking forward to Vanity Fair with Reese Witherspoon and Finding Neverland with Johnny Depp, coming out in September and October respectively.
I'm not really that hyped about the animated releases, the Incredibles, Sharktales and Polar Express, but I'm sure all that will change once I've actually seen trailers for these movies and learned more about them.

I bolded the stuff I really wanna see - the rest are films I'm interested in, or I may matinee...
August:
Without A Paddle (Yay for idiotic stoner comedies!
)
September:
Sky Captain (A big maybe on this one... the style is interesting, but beyond that...)
Duma - Wait, I would have liked to see this one (cheetahs!!), but WB moved it back to 2005...
October:
Shark Tale (This film looks so fugly... I truly hope it crashes and burns, along with Father of the Pride...
)
Team America: World Police (A political South Park with puppets!!
)
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban IMAX (The best HP film to date is coming to my local IMAX theatre in October...)
November:
Birth (I think I'll enjoy the controversy over this film more than anything...
)
The Incredibles (Pixar and Brad Bird... need I say more?)
The Polar Express (Boy howdy, what a scary lookin' film...
)
Kinsey (Sex? Yes, please!
)
Finding Neverland (If it's not too sickly sweet, I may give it a go...)
The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (Gimmicky? Hell yeah. But I'm goin', anyway. ^_^)
Inside Deep Throat (If it comes out this year, it looks interesting. A porn doc! Yay!)
December:
A Series of Unfortunate Events (Never read the books, and Jim Carrey may be a bit too hyped in this one, but it looks quite interesting nonetheless...)
Phantom of the Opera (Maybe? I... meh... I dunno... O_o)

Life often leaves us standing bare, naked and dejected with a lost opportunity. Over the bleached bones and jumbled residues of numerous civilizations are written the pathetic words: "Too late."

Well the movie i'm probably looking more foward to is The Incredibles, but at the same time, after watching the teaser in Quicktime/Pixlet computer file, I'm really not interested in watching it on film at all, just on digital file on a DVI-connected digital monitor.
poor deathie
Anyway, for all the fans of the movie, which seems one of the, if not THE most awaited in this thread, if you haven't done it yet, go to your local magazine store and check the August issue of Animation Magazine, which appart from articles on Sky Captain and Disney's Three Musketeers, has on page 5 a pretty nifty Full Page Glossy Poster of The Incredibles movie.
Magazine reproduction being done usually in between a 150 line screen and a 300 line screen, that poster has around 2000 pixels of vertical resolution (or even more, but more you can't see
