Post by DisneyGirl »

I was wondering:

What kind of computer do you guys have? i.e. iMac, iBook, Dell, Vaio...
What kind of internet connection do you have? i.e. DSL, T1, Cable, Dial-up...
What do you have as your desktop wallpaper?

Mine are:
2 iMacs, 2iBooks, 1 HP
DSL on the macs, Cable on the HP

We've got 1HP, 1 Vaio (hate it), and a generic (favorite one) . We're on Cable, but since we switched to a router our internet speed is wayyyy slower. I've got homestar runner background:)

A 5-year-old Compaq Presario (:P) and Road Runner cable. And a shot of my desktop that I took a few minutes ago -

If the image above is a red X (which it probably will be, knowing how fast my free host's daily bandwidth blows out...), the pic is from a picture book by the insane and wonderful Michel Gagné - he's a special effects animator, artist, illustrator and self-publisher of his own weird books. Click here to see my desktop image - it also takes you to his site. ^_^

This is my Wallpaper (on my work laptop). You know, I don't know the spec for it. It's a Dell (and I don't particularly like Dells). Internet connection is broadband ADSL.

Image

It's Heather from Silent Hill 3. While I found Silent Hill 3 to be a bit of a disappointment compared to the first two games in the series, I like the image of Heather slumped in the wheelchair being pushed by a "Puppet Nurse". It's especially appropriate in light of the "revelation" of Heather's true identity... (I use the quotes, as it was freaking obvious who Heather really was as soon as the character was announced  ).

I have some Silent Hill 2 wallpaper on my own personal PC.

PowerPC 8600

dial up 56k modem

desktop background is neutral grey RGB 82 82 82 (32%)

In the middle of it I have a b/w 689 x 480 capture of Bela Lugosi staring at you taken from the Silent Aperture 1931 Dracula cropped to correct Academy Sound Aperture and then slighly widescreened 4% to 1.44

I like Luke's background. So serene. :)

Lets See, I have a 2002 Toshiba LapTop with Windows XP. And a 2002 E Machines PC. I use my lap top most of the time. Right now I am using Dial Up but we are planning on getting cable soon. My Desktop is a picture of my dog that I took with my Digital Camera and just saved onto the computer.

well it is sort of hard to explain. i have a Sony monitor but most of the other stuff like the keyboard and the hard drives are made from e-machines. i have Windows ME edition. my internet connection is DSL. and since the computer that I'm typing this message is my family's computer, the desktop is a picture of my dad on a sailboat that he owns since this computer is mostly his.

Let's see...I don't know the specs. It was manufactured at some local company. It's a Windows, not Mac. I have DSL, and, since I had to re-install Windows a short time ago, I haven't bothered to change the background yet, so it's the "bliss" one that comes with Windows XP.

I have an AMD Athalon XP 3200+
2.19Hz
1 GB RAM

I have a broadband cable modem too.

My current wallpaper is the XP default, having not bothered to change since I bought the above beast.

But this is my usual. It is from artist Seth Fisher, one of the greatest comic book artists of our time:

Umm...We have a Dell computer (which is actually my sisters, but she uses a laptop now) that is black. I don't know all the numbers or specific names but it has Windows XP  . My brother has the same kind, but his CPU is bigger. We recently got a comcast cable modem.

Disneygirl!!!!!!!!!!!!! You're desktop background is part of the poster I have in my room! :) It's so cool!

My desktop is:

But the internet for now is on my brother's computer, so the desktop in my account on his computer is:

Sorry to hear that you Vaio died. :( Did you get a replacement laptop? Sorry, I don't know a lot about DSL. If your website has lots of pictures or large sound clips, DSL might be slow. I think DSL is faster than a 56k dial-up connection though.
