A kind of Home on the Range Artbook

Post by Chernobog »

This is not the real cover. The definitive one is more or less the same (it looks like a book for small children), but the book has frame stills from the movie and preproduction art as well.

I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way.

It doesn't seem to be big deal, to tell you the truth. I have many other Disney books to buy so, I'll be passing this on. I hope most of the art material will be on the DVD.

It doesn't look TOO bad, although it is certainly not the best "making of" Disney book I've seen.

The Lilo & Stitch one was great, as is a great example of how to do the 'making of' in a non-standard way without compromising the amount of information given. This HOTR one, like recent DVDs, looks like it is catering to the kiddie market, rather than the adults who are interested in the actual production process. It is a real shame, because this is supposedly the last 2D film...

Will probably pick it up for cow value, though.

I'm buying it because is not expensive and because is the only way to see preproduction material from this movie.
