Puberty strikes Disney films!

Post by Kram Nebuer »

 Lol, it's funny, but really no laughing matter, at how in different points of some Disney Features, the characters sound different. Anyone else notice?
- Alice, Alice in Wonderland
- Wart/Arthur, Sword in the Stone - Here it is REALLY noticeable.
- Lilo, Lilo and Stitch - okay not really, but Daveigh Chase uses a different voice in Stitch! The Movie and the Series b/c her voice changed.

Perhaps they are supposed to. Also people have differences in voice when they need to say things in a certain way?

Anyway, that is funny.

I personally thought that Simba's puberty in The Lion King was rather obvious.

I honestly can't remember any time in Alice in Wonderland where's Kathryn's voice sounded different, though her singing voice in Peter Pan is dramatically different than in Alice. With Sword in the Stone it's noticeable because they used three different voice actors for the role of Wart since the voice of the kid originally hired was cracking midway through production. In the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Christopher Robin's voice also changes due to multiple voice actors, but this time it was because each short was several years apart.

Wow I never noticed that nor did I know and I agree that I didn't notice a change in Kathryns voice antill I found out she did the voice of Wendy in Peter Pan now there is a noticeable difference. And if the actors or actresses voice does change in mid production they do a really good job in finding another voice that matches.

Pubert In Disney Films?

Post by Disney Guru »

Yeah I have noticed that for years. Look at all of the Old Disney Live Action Films. For Instance. Sammy The Way-Out Seal, Snowball Express,Savage Sam, Old Yeller, Adventures Of Bullwhip Griffin, Emil And The Detectives, Almost Angels, Pollyanna, Parent Trap, Swiss Family Robinson, Escape To Witch Mountain, Return From Witch Mountain, Child Of Glass, Watcher In The Woods. etc. This isn't something new.

The Beast went through reverse puberty at the end of Beauty and the Beast...

...he got less hairy and his voice went UP a few octaves.

I don't want to start a thing here, UR - but are you saying being gay isn't alright? I really hope you aren't...I don't think I can hold back from saying something nasty if that IS what you are saying... :x

Besides of which, since when does being a woman mean you are gay?

I think we need to talk, Remus. :D

Actually, I took it more as saying that if you are a feminine male, you are automatically in the gay crowd.

No No you got me wrong there Loomis. i'm just joking around with the idea of what pinkrenta said about the Beast becoming a woman. i cant imagine a Disney movie ending with the princess danicng with another princess and then making out and that end. it sort of startles me a bit. :)

Which is still kind of a problem. Not a nice thing to say.
I'm a girly man.
Well, I can't lift my own body weight.
Or run.

Actually, I can imagine it. I imagine it quite a bit.
I think we need more movies with women making out.
And cheese.
More cheese in film.

May I quote Arnold Schwarzenegger?
"If they don't have the guts to come up here in front of you and say, 'I don't want to represent you, I want to represent those special interests, the unions, the trial lawyers ... if they don't have the guts, I call them girlie men."

He was speaking in a rally in Ontario. LOL, it seemed he thought he was in an act of one of his movies.

Can we please not get off topic now?! Thank you! :)

Regarding Alice...It's not really noticeable but I noticed that Alice's voice is higher in her scene with the caterpillar than in any other scene.

In Sword...lol, yeah I found out there were three different actors on imdb.com. There was a message board there and they said that the kid who took over was the son of one of the animators.

Woah, I gotta watch The English version to see how the Beast sounds.

You have a point. During the "I just Can't Wait to be King" and " Hakuna Matata" musical sequences, actor Jonathan Taylor Thomas was replaced by Jason Weaver. lol!

This is The Morning Report... eh.. nevermind.
