Return of the King EE Giftset Pics!

Post by Quasimodo »

Theonering.net (follow link below) has a number of pics of the ROTK EE gift set, revealed at Comic-Con. The set includes a statue of Minas Tirith. Those that purchase this set can also buy a statue of Minas Morgul separately (also shown on the page below). There's no mention whether this set will include a bonus DVD as the previous sets have, but hopefully that will be revealed soon.

Very cool find, Quasimodo!

I haven't been buying the Gift Sets (only the Extended Editions), but DVDSoon seems to be offering them at about half the Aussie price.

In fact, they already have ROTK: EE listed for December 14.

I couldn't resist buying the gift sets for the first two movies, and it looks like I'll be getting this one as well. I did pass on ordering the additional statue of Gollum that was offered to those who bought The Two Towers Gift Set ($80 seemed a bit much to me).

However, that statue of Minas Morgul does look tempting, so I may get that one if the price isn't too high!

looks cool Quasimodo. one of my friends is the one who collects the Extended Editions of the Lord of the Rings movies. so i know most likely that he will get the extended edition when it comes out. also I found out that the Extended Edition will be more than 4 hours long :o . mostly because of the Fan Club credits which keeps going on and on and on and on....... to a total of about 20 minutes.

Ooops. The U.S. release date is what I'm looking for.

As I said two posts above, DVDSoon has it advertised for December 14, which sounds about right (given it won't be coming out in November this year), but there is no official word yet.

This is a link to a few more pics showing the contents of the giftset. It looks like the bonus DVD will be "Howard Shore: Creating the Lord of the Rings Symphony". Sounds pretty cool, since I think Shore did an awesome job with the music for the trilogy. I haven't had the opportunity to see any of the concerts, so it will be nice to get a glimpse of this production.
