Even Stevens on DVD?
Even Stevens on DVD?
My question : who owns the rights to 'even stevens' for merchandising?(or dvds really)
a year or two ago BME (even steven's producers) claimed they had no rights and that it was owned by disney, but appearntly disney claimed the same.
so im just curious, if this is true who infact owns 'even stevens'? you'd think they would have a dvd release by now, especially since it's tv-movie did pretty well

The rights are owned by Buena Vista.

I'd love to see these released. I think Lizzie would come out first, though.

This show really deserves a DVD release, and I'd imagine that Disney would need to sign off on it for it to happen. At this point in time, I know of no plans whatsoever to release the show or movie on DVD, and as time passes, I wonder if the chances are dwindling as Disney Channel focuses more heavily on its newer fare. Season sets, please!

Indeed. I'm just hoping that when Boy Meets World and Golden Girls are huge hits (and they will be, especially the former), that Disney smells the money and catches a sudden active interest the TV-on-DVD market. I think Lizzie and Even Stevens would be near the top of their list, and I'd be pulling for ES.

i think they wouldnt have to much problems getting the cast to do extras although shia is off at the movies and christy has said that the ending of kp is kinda of "ending a chapter in her life" which i took as disney..
anyways, other disney series, i seriously want to see the early-mid 80's "playhouse disney" type series on dvd but someone else would probably do it before disney..

Then why do you watch them? I'm assuming that you do, given that you've obviously watched enough Disney Channel to know that all the shows are stupid, worthless, and plotless.castleinthesky wrote:Hopefully none of the Disney channel original shows do not come out on DVD. Would it offend you if they were released on DVD for those who enjoy stupid, worthless, and plotless shows?

I never understand this logic.castleinthesky wrote:Hopefully none of the Disney channel original shows do not come out on DVD. The are all stupid, worthless, and plotless shows.
As someone said eight months ago <a href="http://www.ultimatedisney.com/forum/vie ... 6">here</a>:
I don't get why people would vote "No" or express that they specifically do NOT want the show to come to DVD. If you don't like it, don't buy it. The more TV shows released to DVD that perform well, the better chance there is of YOUR favorites being released to DVD. And while I may not care about your favorite shows, I'd still want them to come to DVD and make you happy.

I rather have Disney release something more deserving on DVD, such as Dumbo, The Black Cauldron, and other Disney Animated Classics onto Masterpiece or Special Edition.Luke wrote:I never understand this logic.castleinthesky wrote:Hopefully none of the Disney channel original shows do not come out on DVD. Releasing a TV show won't keep them from releasing animated classics as well. It's not as if BMW is keeping Aladdin, Mulan, Princess Diaries, Mary Poppins, The Lion King 2, or the Three Musketeers from hitting the shelves this fall and winter.castleinthesky wrote:I rather have Disney release something more deserving on DVD, such as Dumbo, The Black Cauldron, and other Disney Animated Classics onto Masterpiece or Special Edition.
