What do you Collect?
Personally I collect Animated feature films, any copy of the movies on DVD satisfies me, unless I'm particularly fond of the movie, (such as the Lion King), then I'll buy the collectors edition. I'm planning on buying a second copy of Lady and the Tramp and Dumbo [if] they're ever released in a "special" edition.
I also collect the sequels to the animated features (i.e. Cinderella II, Return to Neverland, etc.)
I recently started buying the Disney Treasure Tins. So Far I have seven: Silly Symphonies, The Complete Goofy, Mickey Mouse In Black and White, Mickey Mouse In Living Color V1, Mickey Mouse In Living Color V2, The Chronological Donald V1, On The Front Lines. I bought these because the cartoon shorts have a special place in my heart from when I was a child, however, I have not bought the other Tins: Tomorrowland, Behind the Scenes at the Walt Disney Studio, Davy Crockett, and Disneyland USA.
Yes, I do have a point: What do you all collect? I've heard you all giving your opinions on everything from the Animated Classics to TV shows, live action movies and just about every aspect of Disney.
To be the first to answer my question, I collect Disney Animated Feature Films and their Sequels. I also collect the Disney Tins which I am fond of, and Disney/Pixar films. I collect all of them ONLY on DVD, any collection or edition.

I don't collect as much DVDs as everyone else, but I have a nice collection of Star Trek figures (and just about any other Star Trek toy). Also, at least 485 tapes of soap operas ranging from November 1999 to the present. Recently, I've stopped taping/watching all but two (Guiding Light and All My Children).

I actually thought about such a thread last night- I love how that always happens.
Currently, I really only collect DVDs, and also little nick-nacks from Walt Disney World when I go there. I also used to collect PEZ Dispensers. I got slack with keeping up with them, though, and there are so many new ones out now that I might as well give up.

Those of you that posted you collect disney dvds, what kinds? Any kind? Live action? Animated? And what does DTV stand for?
Edit: Ah, does it stand for direct to video?, it just dawned on me after I hit submit
Escapay: you don't have as many, but do you collect disney DVDs? If so, which do you have?

Well, on a Disney forum it can mean one of two things: Direct-To-Video, as you said, or Disney Television, which produces a lot of the sequels and other features, as well as Disney's TV shows (obviously).
I collect pretty much all DVDs, but in particular, Disney DVDs and Whoopi Goldberg DVDs make up a little over 1/4 of my DVDs. If you add in TV shows on DVD, it comes up closer to 1/2.

Really nifty collectionChernobog wrote:I collect this (this is only a part, the brother bear figures can't be seen in the picture):
By the way, i'm totally mad trying to find the Hades PVC figure made by Mattel in 1996

In reposnse to the question I am upgrading my VHS collection to DVD. Of course I am trying to collect all of the animiated classics of course I am holding out as much as I can for most of them to be released as 2 disc specials. I also collect the modern Live action films or at least I have started too. Then a few others are just Disney films I see here and there and enjoy so I guess they are in thier own catagory. And oh yeah the Disney pixar films and most diriect to video sequals. Okay I am pretty sure that explinas most of my collection right now.

I've always been collecting Disney Things! My collection includes
~ Figures - from McDonald's toys to cereal box surprises to toy store figures, I have a lot. Well, not as much as Chernobog! That's a GREAT collection!
~ Collectibles - these include the Lenox plates and ornaments. I also have statuettes of Sorcerer Mickey, Steamboat Willie, and Brave Little Taylor. Another is a Mickey Statue from the Disney Store for the 75th Anniversary of the Walt Disney Company. Also a Sorcerer Mickey statue from the 25th Anniversary of WDW. I think my favorite piece is a Mickey's Country Store that opens to see the inside!
My dad bought my mom a crystal Cinderella Carriage (it's so pretty!) for her birthday. She let me display it with my other Disney collectibles.
~ Posters - I haven't really really collected thess, but they just slowly appeared in our house
. I have posters from Lion King (free at Disneyland Christmas 1994), Hercules (free from McDonald's), Toy Story II (free from McD), Tarzan (from my cousin who got them for free at a radio station), Fab Five 4th of July (Free from Frito-Lay). Lol, I didn't realize how many free ones I had!
We actually bought one from the Art of Disney Store. It hangs over my bed and it is a very beautiful poster of the park castles and icons (prior to Animal Kingdom) with a bridge with MIckey and Walt walking on it, admiring the scenery. There are other various Disney characters featured as well. I've wanted this poster ever since I saw it at a hotel in WDW. My parents also got me one on sale at a WDW outlet of Mickey's 75th birthday. I still need to buy a frame for it!
Recently I've gotten some from my sister (who is a cast member at WDW
) since she finds discounted posters from the Art of Disney store (in MGM) at the Cast Members & their families only store. From her we got: WDW Where Magic Lives and Sleuth (or Private Eye, I forget which) Mickey(it's a mansion with the fab five in detective gear and A LOT of other Disney characters in and out of the house. Very Cool
).
~ With my collection of DVDs, I also started collecting Lithographs! I decided I was going to get lithographs for the Platinums, but sadly it looks like the promotion may be ending
. I have the Lithograph sets for Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, and Finding Nemo. I hope to order Aladdin online so I can get the lithos.
~ VHS - we have a lot of Disney VHS with the big white cases. Notable ones include the original releases of Cinderella, Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, Mary Poppins, 101 Dalmations, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and a lot more.
~ DVDs - See the My ºoº DVDs link below
. Basically I collect Disney Animated features! I don't have a lot of live-action. Just the ones I really like. The Treasures I have are the Mickey Mouse in Living Color Volumes 1 & 2. I also want to collect Muppet DVDs and I really hope Disney reissues Muppet DVDs! I already have Kermit's Swamp Years, from the bargain bin at Wal-Mart. Though I'm glad it was a bargain because it wasn't the best of Muppet films. I had a chance to get Muppet Treasure Island, but I got R&H Cinderella instead!
Wow, I said a lot! But that's good because I am very proud of my Disney collection! After posting this I just know I'll remember something I forgot to include!
EDIT:
Hehehe, I forgot two important collections!
~ Disney Beanies - While everyone else was collecting Ty's, I got DIsney ones! This is probably the biggest collection of anything I have! I've got many variations of Mickey including Toga Mickey, Referee Mickey, Sorcerer Mickey, Safari Mickey, and so much more. As far as "sets" I have the fab five, Huey, Dewey, and Louie (this one took my ages to complete!), Mary Poppins set (Mary, Bert, Penguin, Fox), half of the Wonderland set (Mad Hatter, March Hare, Black Card, White Rabbit, Tweedle Dee and Dum. I'm missing Alice, Dormouse, Queen of Hearts, Red Card, and the Walrus), Tourist Mickey and Hula Minnie, Pilot Mickey and Liberty Minnie, Chip and Dale, and more. I can't remember them all now.
~ Disney Pins - this collection is harder to add to as one seldom goes to WDW or a Disney park. My dad has a HUGE collection of the first Disney Store Pin collection. I collect pins I like and Frontierland pins.

Here are the pics of my disney and tv/movie dvd collection. Not all of my movies are shown. But I only have a handful more. I'm more about Disney animated DVDs than any other kind of movies. EDIT: I also collect Sailor Moon DVDs (not pictured). But I have all of the seasons except SuperS, (cause it's the only season not sold in a box set).
Since it's kind of late, the flash is being a nasty. So I took two with the flash bouncing off first one row, then the other.

Well it's hard to think about that. I mean in Disney wise, I don't really collect anything. I'm not a big person when it comes to DVD collections. the only specific collection that I actually have is a collection of Pokemon cards. now i know this is silly but i used to collect these cards for many years. i collected the American cards and the Japanesse cards. i liked to collect the cards with my friends but they have sort of stop collecting the cards after a while. mostly now i just store my cards away in my closet. but some Boy Scouts in my troop and I have thought about bringing it back up in our troop after we saw someone's collection and decided to start having competitions again. i saving my cards for a while so that soon my cars might be a fortune.
