New Marvel 2099 Comics are an insult

Post by 2099net »

... to all the dedicated fans of Marvel's original and unsurpassed range of 2099 comics. Never before has a group of comics been of such a high collective quality*

However Marvels new 2099 comics have NOTHING... absolutely NOTHING to do with these excellent comics. Indeed, from the teaser blurbs it sounds like some actually contradict Marvel's established 2099 continuity. It's one thing to simply ignore the existing 2099 comics, but it's another thing to totally go out of their way to destroy established continuity.

I'm so mad.

Then check out http://www.comicboards.com/2099ug/ to get an idea why the real thing was so good, and this new development is such an insult.

* Until the editor was sacked and most of the original writers walked out in disgust.

I know how you feel. Back when I didnt have a family and could afford it, I collected nearly every DC comic. Lapses of continuity were always a big sticking point for me as well. Usually they did it to tell one rather meaningless story. To me the blame lies with the editors, its there job to keep it all straight, not the writers.
