Opinions on JB2 & Milo's Return Question
What did everyone here think of Jungle Book 2? I'd rather not read the review of someone who's paid to critisize it: I want the opinions of Disney fans (you). I thought that Return to NeverLand was a good sequel, but I thought Hunchback 2 was crappy. I'm expecting JB2 to be around the same level as Return to NeverLand. Will it live up to my expectations?
Oh, and I was in Wal-Mart today (no, I didn't buy anything-I NEED $$!), and I saw that the Atlantis: Milo's Return VHS wasn't in the usual "clamshell" cases, but in one of those "slipbox" cases that a lot of live-action movies are available in. Anyone know what the deal is here?

I thought it was good see Best Disney Sequel thread. I liked it better than Neverland personally, but then I seem to be the only one with that opinion. Well I reckomend seeing it for yourself, because everyone might think one way but you have to judge for yourself, but keep in mind that it is a sequel after all, and judge it on that level. I personally think it is a great improvement on a lot a the crap they have been releasing. (No offense to any fans of the sequels, just an opinion) Anyway that's all I have to say

Jungle Book 2 was good, but I liked Return to Neverland better (sorry Prince Phillip). However, it was a good sequel, and I personally liked the ending better. And Shere Kan is still an excellent villain, Baloo was funny, and the girl Shanti was pretty well done (better than she was in those ridiculous deleted scenes!) It probably isn't worth the money unless you get it in a few months when the price has dropped.
I also noticed Atlantis: Milo's Return had a weird cover. Maybe they've decided that cheap sequels don't belong in clamshell pakaging anymore. Milo's Return was Disney trying to do Scooby Doo (which was horrible, but then I really didn't like Atlantis in the first place).
Great quote Prince Adam!

I haven't seen Jungle Book 2 yet, so I can't comment on that. But I did liked Atlantis: Milo's Return. Not so much a feature film, as it was 3 episodes of a planned TV Series, that was tied together. As long as you keep that in mind...
And I think the Atlantis series could've been great, judging from the DVD. Too bad it was canned.

I was actaully pretty excited about the original DTV movie and the following series: I loved the idea of Kida and Milo getting trapped on the surface and having to travel all over the world to find a rumoured second entrance to Atlantis. But after I saw the result when this "was canned", I really didn't want to see it anymore-the animation looked worse than I expected, and I was hoping for a full-lenth DTV feature, not just 3 disjointed stories.

Milo's Return could have been a really good TV series. It was a little ridiculous for a movie, but it was a good idea. The first segment is where they go to a city that is being controlled by a Kraken (some sea creature), the second they go to the southwest and meet up with Atlantian Indians, and the third they go to Iceland where there is a guy who believes he is Thor or another god. All in all, it would have been a better TV series than what they made it into. The lava dog bugged.

I know-a TV series is supposed to be a series of different adventures revolving around the same characters or theme, whereas a movie should (but unfortunately isn't always) a full-length adventure. I'm sure "Milo's Return" would have been very well received had it been a TV series. I really enjoy the original, and I'm sure I might've enjoyed the series, but now that it's being released in the DTV/3 short vignettes format, I'm not so sure...

It's just like Belle's Magical World and Cinderella Dreams Come True in the 3 short vignettes. Tarzan and Jane is also another one like this.Prince Adam wrote:I know-a TV series is supposed to be a series of different adventures revolving around the same characters or theme, whereas a movie should (but unfortunately isn't always) a full-length adventure.
