Disney Box Sets in Australia (July)

Post by Loomis »

Still no more word on that Herbie Box set (although the BVHE site lists it as coming 23 July).
However, specs are up for the MIGHTY DUCKS and HONEY, I... sets at the disney.com.au site.
Nothing special, by the looks of it, just all clumped together. There was a rumour that one of the boxes was going to ge a 4 disc set, but I think that was an error on the part of an retailer.

I know it sucks...

As for Disney's JAAM, it looks like it is a live onstage children's performance thing.
Like the Wiggles. Do you guys get the Wiggles over there?

You know, like 4 people dancing and singing to kids.
I guess this is Disney's Aussie version....
Looks kinda lame...

"Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves" was a made for television movie. I would suspect 1.33:1 is the correct aspect ratio.

Yeah, EzyDVD listed the "Honey..." set as 4 discs. No big loss. However the box design clearly shows the words "Special Collector's Edition". There doesn't seem to be anything "special" about those specs. :(

It's actually listed on the IMDB as "made for video". I don't think it went to the cinemas.

Yes IMBD is not really trustworthy, especially when it comes to running times of the movies.
But Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves WAS made for video/TV or something like that, and was never released to cinema.

Herbie Goes Bananas and Herbie Rides Again have just been certified by the BBFC for the UK Box.

Strangely Herbie Rides Again has the qualifier "Contains no sex, violence or bad language" while Herbie Goes Bananas doesn't!

It must be full of people cursing like a sailors!

Well, here we are only 2 days away from the release of the Herbie Box Set (as well as the 'Ducks' and 'Honey').

And has Disney released any information to anyone about it?

No, don't be silly.

I guess I will have to wait until I go to HMV on Thursday to see if they have it to find out what features it has. Or if the other films are in widescreen.

The encouraging thing is that most of the etailers now have the thing available for preorder, which indicates they at least have confirmation that it will actually be coming out this time (as the sequels have been advertised before, then never appeared).

The ones that are posting features seem to agree it will have:
Special Features:

That Loveable Bug

Deleted Scenes

Herbie Mania

Audio Commentary

But no further info. One place said it would NOT be 16:9 enhanced, but I think everything is speculation until Wednesday.

Kep y'all posted....just shits me is all....

Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves was a direct-to-video release before the days of DVD and probably has an OAR of 1.33:1.
What would this wretched world be like without Disney?
