Strike three for Limbaugh "till death do us part"

Post by buffalobill »

Looks like the man who espouses family values is in a neck in neck race with Newt Gingrich & JLo to see who can catch Elizabeth Taylor first for her divorce record. Maybe she couldn't take living with a druggie. It's amazing that one of the longest running first marriage in Washington is God forbid, Bill & Hillary (the Godless heathens who are out to destroy western civilization).

...5-day-old news. The rest of the country has respected the privacy of the situation thus far.

He filed for divorce, not her. He has always espoused family values, yes, but has never shied away from accompanying that espousal with the admission that he himself has been through divorces. He's never condemned divorcees (or even divorce, that I've heard), and surely you wouldn't ask him to denounce other family values that he believes in. They were wed for 10 years, it's a personal matter, and none of us here know the details of the situation.

Having very little first hand knowledge of what he rants (I mean talks) about on his show I wouldn't know if he puts down divorces or divorcees but I do know that he has always spoken out against those who take drugs illegally but did it himself. He should volunteer to open his medical records to prove his innocence but we know that'll never happen. He's got a big money lawyer in Roy Black (surprised he didn't go for Johnnie Cochrane) who'll make sure that he doesn't face the music he advocates for everyone else. Can you spell HYPOCRITE?

Actually, the media was able to find only one quote by El Rushbo dealing with drug usage... and it was an indirect reference. This was long before his own problems with drugs had begun. The quote also referenced those addicted to recreational drugs- not medicinal, which was the case with him. Of course, most of the media took it out of context. Furthermore, he actually does advocate that when individuals are 'facing the music,' that they hire big-money lawyers if they have the means for it. I see no hypocrisy to be found. A large portion of his defense actually comes from the ACLU, who, even though they are almost always at odds with Limbaugh, agree that the situation is an example of injustice, and are volunteering additional legal assistance on his behalf. And why should he turn over his medical records? For liberals' peace of mind? He hasn't been charged or convicted of anything, and the courts have sided with Black and the ACLU that to do so would be an illegal invasion of privacy, not only for Rush, but for his doctors, whose reputations would be on the line.

...But I find it interesting that we're talking about the drugs issue to begin with. Wasn't this thread supposed to be attacking him on the divorce?

I've actually got Bill's book Who's Looking Out for You - simply because I got Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them (and most of the Micheal Moore books) and decided to get one telling the other side of the story for balance. Yes, that right people - balance.

However, I must confess I've not read it yet. But I'll make an effort to start soon.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Yes, the same ACLU that helped get Ollie North off after his conviction is helping Rushie. Amazing how evil they are except when they are standing up for a far right conservatives rights.

Back on topic, I hope his soon to be ex wipes him out in the settlement.

Ditto for me. I've got Coulter and Limbaugh... along w/ Hillary's. I haven't read Hillary's yet, though... nor have I read the newest from Coulter. It's all about the balance 8).

Bill-
The ACLU's defense of a conservative doesn't in any way change a conservative's stance on their stances. Political paths always cross somewhere along the road, and it's to be expected. I doubt they think any more highly of Limbaugh, either.

Yes, I always hope for the financial demise of others, as well. I enjoy it even more when the fortune is being taken from the one who incurred it. I seriously doubt she'll wipe him out, though. He already boasted a sizeable salary prior to marrying her, and the fact that he's the sole cash cow in the partnership will weigh in for something. But when you're talking $300 million... no one is going to come off poorly. Nor should they. But then that takes me back to the inescapable fact that none of us know the situations of their marriage or divorce.
