Other Animation SURVIVOR - Round 9 (The Final 5)

Post by AwallaceUNC »

The last round was pretty much a landslide.
Voted out so far...
Round 1 - Recess: School's Out, Teacher's Pet
Round 2 - Doug's First Movie, Piglet's Big Movie
Round 3 - The Jungle Book 2, Dinosaur
Round 4 - James and the Giant Peach, Return To Neverland
Round 5 - The Tigger Movie, The Brave Little Toaster
Round 6 - Ducktales: The Movie- The Treasure Of The Lost Lamp*
Round 7 - A Goofy Movie
Round 8 - The Nightmare Before Christmas

It works just like the Survivor TV show. Basically, come on here once every 2 days and vote for the Disney animated film that you want to vote off, i.e., the one that you like the least. At the end of the round, I'll come on here and announce who got voted off, and a new thread will start for the 10th round.

For the purposes of the game, we'll use the site definition for 'Other Animation,' which is any animated film distributed by Disney, excluding Disney Feature Animation. This includes anything made by Walt Disney Television or Pixar, and any films that fall into special, outside categories of theatrical animation. You can see the site's list of Other Animation here.

You can talk about your reasons for your vote, but I ask that you put the full title of what you're voting for in bold letters so that it's easy for me to count them all in a hurry.

So, Survivors ready?? Come on in and vote off ONLY ONE of these movies (The Final 5!):

Toy Story
A Bug's Life
Toy Story 2
Monsters, Inc.
Finding Nemo

Voting ends at 11:00 pm (EASTERN TIME) on Tuesday, June 8th.

*Began the transition to 1 movie leaving per round, instead of 2.

I'd hate to do this, but Toy Story gets my vote. I love it, but not as much as the other Pixar films, though I know most people will beg to differ.

I haven't seen it since its theatrical run, whereas I've seen all of the other 4 within the last 3 months. That may be why I feel A Bug's Life has to go, but at least it makes an otherwise very difficult decision easy for me.

Well, all five of the remaining films are great, but even within that, there's some order to how much I like them. Monsters, Inc. just happens to be a little bit less than the others.
"Fifteen years from now, when people are talking about 3-D, they will talk about the business before 'Monsters vs. Aliens' and the business after 'Monsters vs. Aliens.' It's the line in the sand." - Greg Foster, IMAX chairman and president

This is really hard! I really enjoyed all of Pixar's efforts nearly equally..... Bug's life deserves much more credit than it's gotten...... Monsters was heart felt and touching with humor.... same with Nemo..... Toy Story started it all and has a perfect story... Toy Story 2 did the impossible and outdid the original......Ahhh I'm going mental.

I guess....... bye-bye  : Toy Story Please don't scorn me. It was truly a hard decision and its just gonna get worse.

Now that we're down to the Pixar crop, I'm really stuck between two flicks that don't really match up to the insane quality of the others, but for now I'll go with:

A Bug's Life

And keep Toy Story for next time. :P
