Donald Volume II?

Post by viruletdew »

Perhaps this has already been answered by someone, but I am curious as to whether anyone knows/has heard when the second Donald DVD will be released?

Welcome to the forum. Well, it's not in what's planned for this year, so all signs point to December 2005.

Man that seems like a long time. How many years will pass before the completion of all these DVD releases? I'm gonna be so old. lol

Donald Volume 2 is THE Disney Treasures collection I've been waiting for since they announced the whole deal.

That era of Donald Duck eclipses anything Disney has ever done in the comedic short field, and Volume 1 just started heating up in the last few cartoons.

Can hardly wait for Volume 2!

I agree. There are so many great shorts from that period. Especially the ones with Chip & Dale, and of course Donald's Snow Fight.

I just want to see more shorts with Diasy!

I am also looking forward to the Donald short with the Gorilla, and the one where all the characters in his book start to come out of the book, and these two are for nostalgic reasons, I would also like to see< I guess it was "no sail" with Donald and Goofy, where their in the desert or something, it is from so far back, I barely remember...

I personally don't like the shorts with Humphrey the Bear and Chip and Dale, so I'm not as anxious to see those. Personally I like the 1928 - 1939 era of shorts, but that's just me.

Regardless the Donald shorts are among my favorites and I can't wait to own them all, I sure hope they hurry up and get these out!

Anyone else think we should get a wave 5 treasures, since wave 2 only had 3?

jedipir8:

What are you including in two "assorted" sets?

It's my guess that volume 2 and 3 will be enough for DD, but we'll see.

Where do you base that on that it will be two such sets?
I don´t think they will do more than one such.
There is not so many special cartoons made to fill two sets I think, unless they put in some of the more lenghtier featurettes which are half animated half liveaction.

It depends what is included in the Duck and Pluto sets. Certainly there are cartoons with just the ladies in with none of the main male members (Mickey, Donald, Goofy). I presume Chip 'n Dale's shorts will be mostly in with the Duck volumes (though wondering why Squatter's Rights wasn't in MMiC vol2, maybe they're saving it for the Pluto set). Humphrey the Bear and the Ranger? Some of them by themselves and no Duck. Then there's cartoons such as Casey Jones, Morris the Moose, Lambert the Lion, Muncey and Flannery, Ben and Me, Paul Bunyan, Goliath II and so on.

this site lists how many shorts were produced per character. We can all do some math now and see how many treasures/volumes are in need to cover all of those shorts :)

Thanks Chernabog and Ciaobelli for clearing that up, I've never seen "No Sail"...

I originally though that if Mickey got stretched over 4 treasures, then Donald could easily too, but I think it would be much easier for them to just release 3, We'll get them a lot faster...

I assume, that each Donald volume, will be released every other year, spanning a long time, for all us Donald fans that want the complete collection of his shorts NOW!!!!

I also think, but doubt it would happen, that it would be cool to have a tin of all those cartoons that went into production, but never got made... (they are listed at the website that PatrickvD posted...

I'd like to see an Anamorphic version of Grand Canyonscape (the one on 20,000 Leagues is not 16x9)

I think that there could be an assorted one and an education one they could easily fill up four DVDs if not more.

Very, very few, I think.

Probably. Most of C&D's appearances (in the classic shorts) are in the DD shorts. There are only three shorts with C&D title cards.

Dis this short have a MM title cards? I guess they aren't absolutely consistent in that respect.
