Do You Think Disney Need to Bring Back Horror Into Their Movies?

Post by reee9948 »

While Disney movies aren't horror films, a lot of them do contain horror elements especially in the older films. Sadly it seems like Disney doesn't want to add anything too scary in their movies anymore because they want to appeal to the general audience. Horror is an underrated aspect of a Disney film and I would really love it if they would make amovie that would keep me on my toes and my heart pounding. It would also be really cool if they make their own version of Coroline, a pg horror movie.

I would love some of that Snow White, Pinocchio, Fantasia, Bambi, Aladdin horror back.

Coraline's stop-motion film felt so much like watching someone play a video game to me. If they fixed that in a beautiful hand-drawn animated film of it, I may wanna see it.

I'd love to see more edge in Disney films, something akin to the old hag in Snow White, but contemporary Disney has been sort of claimed by the population as a safe-zone that we can trust will never scare or upset the kids. Like, my sister doesn't let her 3-year-old watch the part where Mufasa dies in The Lion King.

I'd say that I can't imagine Disney ever doing anything even horror-adjacent, but I don't know. They might just get so desperate that they'd be willing to try anything.
