This is so strange. Disney was willing to alienate half of the US by going head to head with the Florida governor but then they go ahead and open a new park in a country where it's literally illegal to be gay and people are imprisoned for being gay.

I personally won't be going to this park, it will also be extremely unbearable in Summer. It's pretty clear that it's only meant for the rich people of the Gulf region and South Asia.

In addition, I may be wrong, but this park will probably be built by slaves.

The Park is entirely paid by the Emiratis

They have been trying to get a huge Park for years, first Dubai Land (flop that never happened) Ferrari Land (flop that nobody cares) Warner Bros Park (nobody cares, it's just an indoor park) so they needed either a Universal Studios Park or a Disney one

I'm sure they talked to both and Disney was the one that accepted

I know I'm biased for being Spain but Spain should get a Park, we represent much more Florida in Europe than Paris, a smaller park could be possible next to Portaventura that has already people going

Paris tourism is to see Paris, but many europeans that go to the coast of Spain just go to stay in a hotel and be in the beach, so a Disney park makes more sense

I guess it will always be Disney mistake to not do this in the 80s

I don’t know what to make of this news myself. An old coworker opened Abu Dhabi Sea World and she is excited for this news, but I don’t know that I would be comfortable ever traveling to this park (if I could even afford it) as a gay man.

Disney will not own or operate the park— that’s the same deal they have with Tokyo Disneyland, which is interesting.

A park in Spain would be a disaster. The public that goes to Spanish parks are not willing to pay 80€ for an entrance. With our salaries it's not possible to afford that. Universal left Port Aventura and Six Flags left Parque Warner. The tourist that comes to Spain comes because of the food and the beach. If they want to go to Disney they go to Paris or Orlando (British people use to go there). Also a park so near to the French one doesn't have any sense. It would be very dificult for them to maintain two parks, they can't even maintain one...
In my opinion a park in Abu Dhabi is a great mistake. As some of you said it's going to be only for the rich people that live there and for rich asians. Disney's public use to be families and gays. Families are going to have difficult to save money to go there imagine how hard It would be for them to go to a country like this one.
Gay shouldn't go and if they do they are really stupid and ignorant. This country is really intolerant with gay people and visiting it only because there's a Disney park is really silly. Spending money in a country that kills people that feel the same that you feel is immoral. As a Gay Disney fan I wouldn't go there. I don't wanna have problems and I don't wanna visit this country but I know that some Disney instagramers are gonna go. Just imagine a Gay guy in a Disneyland Abu Dhabi taking photos with their Minnie ears. People from there are going to look them bad and they may have problems.
They are not only intolerant with gays. They break lots of human rights and this is unbearable. One of them is using slave to build all the things that they do. I would like them to avoid this kind of practice but it seems that they are not smart enough so maybe they'll use them to build it. Admiting practices like this one would make great damage to the brand and we all know that they are not in their best moment right now...

Yep the UAE (as other arab countries) is known for their slave system, apart from misogyny and lgbtphobia

But gay fans will be safe, the UAE are known for being money hungry, so they prefer money over their ethics (lgbtphobia)

If it was Qatar it would be a different story, they're worse, in the World Cup a raped mexican woman got sentenced for adultery for being RAPED, apart from all the lgbtphobia fans and reporters got during the games

(It's funny how I'm criticising gulf countries when I'm actively searching a job in Emirates and Qatar Airways, I also criticize Israel and I operate flights to Tel Aviv sometimes xd)
