Three Musketeers - weird

Let me start at the beginning.

For centuries most people have been under the assumption that they were not real people with the exception of D'Artangan who was a fairly insignificant member of the royal court. The assumption of the other three has been that they were totally made up characters. A lot of research has been done by historians based on Dumas' claim that they were very real, but no trace has been found of them. Dumas claimed that the trilogy of stories were historically accurate.

Now we have word out of the Netherlands today that a tomb with all four may have been found. If you believe Dumas, all four fell seperately.(By the way the Man in the Iron Mask's ending was not the same as Dumas'). D'Artagnan is the last to die in the books. And what would all four be doing buried way out in the Netherlands where D'Artagnan was killed?

But, we have to remember that there are a big diffrence between those people beeing real and that the story about them is real.

What it says is that seven remains where found burried in a garden in the Dutch city of Maastricht very close to where (supposedly) D'Artangan fought and died. However: the article also states that the story that these remains are from French musketeers has allready been denied by a spokesperson of the city of Maastricht. He/she has stated that the remains found are only about 80 years old.

According to the books there were hundreds of musketers they could have been any of them.

Hmmm, yeah I thought it was a little far fetched to be true.

If you were going to bury them all together, why would you transport the three that had died previously to a foreign country and rebury them.

Didnt make any sense. I think the article I read(sorry I didnt post the link) was taking some literary licence.
