I saw TROY Yesterday!

Post by Marianne81 »

Yesterday I was lucky enough to see a free preview of TROY on my college campus, and I must say that it was very good. Those who enjoy this type of movie will definitely like it. It looks amazing-costimes, sets, etc. But what I thought was especially unique was that there was no clear "side" I was rooting for. It had many dimensions to the story.

All of the actors do a good job. I personally found that Eric Bana, who plays Hector, gave the best performance. I felt the most for his character, cried during some of his scenes, and ironiclly he got the most, and the loudest cheers from the crowd, not Brad Pitt's Achilles. Peter O'Toole is excellent as well, and Orlando Bloom does a good job of making you somehow dislike and like him simultaneously. (If you want me to explain this, just ask. I just don't want to give too much away)

It was a little long- 2 hours and 45 minutes, but I highly recommend it for those who love movies that have both incredible action and emotional drama. I would give it 3 out of 4 stars

Yeah, last year I got to see a preview of Pirates of the Caribbean. I always get giddy when I see previews :D
