I've never seen that box before. Is it some sort of exclusive thing? I was browsing ebay the other day and I saw a Sleeping Beauty DVD housed in a box just like that. Very interesting...Makes me wonder if there are anymore like that.

They do that at Sam's Club too. My brother has one for Lion King 1.5

Question, did TLK 1.5 also come with the cardboard sleeve at Sam's?
Oh, btw Escapay, your forum name always makes me laugh.
Yeah, TLK 1.5 came with the slipcover. Most of the DVDs there get that long box thingy. But Disney I think was the only one to actually do some nice art for it as the rest are just a generic blue packaging.

At costco most of the new DVD that are just relase come with the color box covers.
But usually Disney only does the color box covers, when new shipments come from the Disney DVD's they are usually just blue.
I usually buy the DVD when they are first relase so I know.
Recently Brother Bear now has two box covers one that's blue and one that has pictures on it.

Many CDs in stores used to come in those cardboard long boxes. In addition to making it harder to steal, the real reason for them was the shelves. They were using old record shelves, divided in half for the CDs. The long boxes just made them fit in the better. Could be why these warehouse stores are still using them?
i think they use the extra cardboard box to put a security device in. They make it look really neat though. and i ahve seen them at costco (a.k.a. price club) locations in canada. they dvd is no different i dont think. i got my family guy dvd in that
