Animated Classics SURVIVOR - Round 10

Post by AwallaceUNC »

Last time we voted off 2 more movies. So far, the films voted off are..
Round 1 - The Three Cabelleros, The Aristocats, Oliver & Company, The Adventures of Ichabod & Mr. Toad
Round 2 - Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Saludos Amigos, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Treasure Planet
Round 3 - Make Mine Music, The Black Cauldron, The Great Mouse Detective, Hercules
Round 4 - Melody Time, The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh, The Sword In The Stone, The Rescuers Down Under
Round 5 - Fun & Fancy Free, Robin Hood*
Round 6 - The Rescuers, The Fox and the Hound
Round 7 - Fantasia 2000, Mulan
Round 8 - Dumbo, Pocahontas
Round 9 - The Emperor's New Groove, Lilo & Stitch

Recap:

It works just like the Survivor TV show. Basically, come on here once every 2 days (we've shortened it from 3 days to 2 based on the first four rounds) and vote for the Disney Animated Classic (see the list http://www.ultimatedisney.com/ultimateclassics.htm ) that you want to vote off, i.e., the one that you like the least! At the end of the 2 days, I'll come on here and announce who got voted off, and a new thread will start for the 11th round. This gets to be a lot of fun, especially when it gets down to the wire.

The TWO movies that receive the most votes will be kicked off each week, UNTIL we are down to the final 11 and 5, then it will change up some!

Just to reiterate: Every 2 days, 2 movies will go off now. Got it? Good.

So, Survivors ready?? Come on in and vote off ONLY ONE of these remaining movies:

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Pinocchio
Fantasia
Bambi
Cinderella
Alice in Wonderland
Peter Pan
Lady and the Tramp
Sleeping Beauty
101 Dalmatians
The Jungle Book
The Little Mermaid
Beauty and the Beast
Aladdin
The Lion King
Tarzan
Brother Bear

Reminder: Please post your vote alone in bold, as this makes it easier for me.

Voting ends at midnight (EASTERN TIME) on Monday, April 19th.

*Round 5 marked the transition from voting off 4 movies per every 3 days to voting off 2 movies per every 2 days.

EDIT: Changed my vote (read on Page 3)

I was happy to see Lilo go last time ( :stitch: ), and I guess I won't complain about ENG, either. Now, 'tis Bambi's turn. Definitely the weakest of the Platinum movies, and my least favorite of the remaining.

Brother Bear does not deserve to be on this list.

I wonder why Brother Bear is still on here.

Maybee few has seen it, and therefore feel they can not vote it out. It is clearly one of the weekest that is remaining, and there are several movies that already are gone that has many more qualityes.

Brother Bear - My other potential selection won't get voted off, so maybe there's a chance to save one of the two remaining '40s films which are threatened.

I think its a lost battle with the classics that are older then 1980, because people around here seems to only enjoy what has been made in the Eisner years.

I'm surprised Brother Bear ... lasted longer than Lilo & Stitch. Not that I mind. My top three (Lilo, Rescuers Down Under, Fantasia 2000) are all gone, and Brother Bear's my #4 ... so I don't want to contribute to its departure. :)

I have to go with Fantasia.

Once again, Bambi. Interesting that all the platinums are still around. I guess they really are the most beloved classics.

Well, all of the Walt-era films (minus Dumbo, the Anthologies, and Sword in the Stone) are still around, so it's not that much of a lost battle, though I do agree that the big four of the Eisner era will most likely take up the top 4.

Well I just have never understood what's so big deal with it?
I have seen lots of better Disney movies.
Well to be honest, I have seen it so many years ago and I don't remember it so well so I'm definitely going to buy it when it will be on sale and maybe my opinion will change then.. who knows? :)
