"Toon In With Me", coming to MeTV in 2021

So they're bringing back old Warner Bros. and MGM cartoons for this Saturday morning block. I wonder how they will censor the Looney Tunes shorts in particular, given their new anti-gun policy. I'm guessing, for example, they will censor Chuck Jones' "hunting" trilogy as poorly as they did back in the day on CBS, when they cut out all scenes of Elmer Fudd firing his gun at Daffy Duck, thereby dislocating the duck's beak.

I think it's great that a "regular" TV channel is getting these classic cartoons. Do you think they'll even show the "questionable" cartoons at all? Or you do think that they'll just censor those segments?

I have had the Boomerang streaming channel for the past few months, and I have been LOVING it. SO much good content on there.

They'll probably skip over most of the cartoons with racist gags in them, especially the ones where those are integral to the plot. They've skipped "The Prowler" episode of The Flintstones, which has a racist caricature of Chinese people in it, for instance.

I'd like to think that violence won't be as much of an issue for this block, since MeTV does seem to skew a little older than, say, Cartoon Network does. But it looks like this is meant for all ages, so who knows?

Personally, I like that this block is happening! CN/Boomerang hasn't been doing much with these cartoons in a while- the Looney Tunes block they've been airing for years has only shown the same couple of dozen cartoons for years, and only those and Tom & Jerry have been around over the years- and not everyone has access to strong enough wifi to enjoy the HBO Max or Boomerang services. These are some of the best cartoons ever made, and they deserve to be available as widely as possible.
