Re: Most anticipated Disney movie of 2021
Definitely Raya and the other Disney animation. Either it's the Latina princess film or it's Zootopia 2 (my preference being the Latina princess film). I'm maximum excited for both those projects (and for Raya as well); it feels weird to be this excited for Disney films again, even if they are 3D and Miranda is likely the musical's composer. I think the last time was The Princess and the Frog. Even Moana didn't make me this excited, although I was happy about M&C having a new project. I guess my opinion of Lasseter held me back from getting my hopes up too much, even with that project. From what I remember, I was not looking forward to Frozen much at all aside from the soundtrack (Zootopia either), and both were pleasant surprises--not that I like Zootopia anywhere near *as much* as Frozen. Aside from that, it's Spider-Man: Home Run, Avatar: The Way of the Water, and Everybody's Talking About Jamie for me. I'm also going to see The Little Mermaid Live-Action (if that's what the untitled one is), although my excitement level for that film varies from day to day.
Oh, yeah, I’m looking forward to Eternals, too. I’ll see Shang Chi eventually although it’s not a priority. I end up seeing the majority of superhero films at some point in time.

If I were to list it out that way:
1. Latina princess musical (if that's what the Untitled turns out to be)
2. Raya and the Last Dragon
3. Zootopia 2 (if that's what the Untitled turns out to be)
4. The Little Mermaid Live-Action (if that's what the Untitled turns out to be) ~ My excitement would be higher if it felt more like a new version of the original film and less like a film version of the mostly-horrid Broadway musical.
5. Avatar: The Way of Water
6. Everybody's Talking About Jamie
7. Spider-Man: Home Run ~ Far From Home was disappointing, but I still plan to check out new entries regardless because of Holland. *shrug*
8. Eternals
9. Jungle Cruise
10. Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
11. Peter & Wendy (if that's what the Untitled turns out to be)
12. Untitled PIXAR Film

Re: Most anticipated Disney movie of 2021
I know Everybody’s Talking About Jamie was very big in the UK but I know very little about it. Surprising that it made the leap to film before Broadway. I’ve said this before, I think, but nowadays a lot of smaller stage musicals have been making the jump to movies. It’s a pretty unique phenomenon, I think, in the history of movie musicals. I think post-pandemic we will move away from big tent pole features, so maybe this new musical trend is economical enough to stick around.
Of course, Raya and the Last Dragon. And Luca. And Encanto. They are all interesting to me in different ways.
I think Jungle Cruise could still be fun.
I am really excited to see Spielberg’s West Side Story. Probably my most anticipated on this whole list. Wish it was still being released this year.

Re: Most anticipated Disney movie of 2021
So far, Raya and the Avatar sequel are the only ones I'm anticipating. Everyone's Talking About Jamie and the third Spider-Man are next. The early story details of Encanto leave me cold, although I still hope it has a good soundtrack. Luca could be interesting, but, considering I'm not a PIXAR fan, I could just as easily end up not liking it. We'll see.

Avatar 2 is not getting released in 2021 anymore. It was pushed back to 2022.Disney's Divinity wrote:So far, Raya and the Avatar sequel are the only ones I'm anticipating.
Re: Most anticipated Disney movie of 2021
My answer hasn't changed, but I'll rank them to make it more interesting:farerb wrote:The animated films, especially the musical if that turns out to be true, and Cruella.
1. Encanto - I like the people involved and I like the fact that It's a musical since we didn't get a good musical from Disney since 2016.
2. Luca - The story's premise sounds interesting, it could be as good as Ratatouille or end up as Good Dinosaur. We'll see but for some reason I have faith in this.
3. Cruella - It's from the director of I, Tonya and the screenwriter of The Favorite, so it has the potential to be more sophisticated than Disney's usual live action output. But I might be wrong and this could turn out to be awful like Maleficent, but something tells me that it won't. I also like Emma Stone.
4. Raya and the Last Dragon - I'm excited for this because it will be the first original WDAS film since 2016, but the late story changes, the replacement of the directors and Jennifer Lee's interference suggest that it might turn out to be a mess. The fact that it's not a musical also puts it lower than the others.
Re: Most anticipated Disney movie of 2021
Here's mine:
01. Raya and the Last Dragon — March 12, 2021 (One word: Epicness
…at least based on what I’ve seen and heard about the project, both at the D23 expo and confidentially, this one promised to be one of Disney most inspired among recent WDAS films =) I just hope the production teams haven’t mutated the project too much during its last year of production..)
02. Luca — June 18, 2021 (I really don’t know more about this project than most of you. BUT… just the setting: the Italian Riviera… what more to ask?
…oh yeah, there will also be an underwater “monsters” realm! ... Yeah, I’m all for it!
And actually, when you think of it, this movie should be anticipated as the TRUE upcoming Little Mermaid remake somehow
At least, undoubtedly one worth being watched
03. Encanto — November 24, 2021 (although what I saw [concept arts only] of the project seems beautiful with a very fantastic setting :-O! there’s a part of me that feels like the release of this film is a bit too close in time to “Coco” and “Elena of Avalor” to feel that refreshing? idk, you have to see the final product to decide
! and it will depend on the movie themes. But WDAS still doesn’t have a big movie set in South America yet, can you believe it? I also know that some of you feel more enthusiastic for this animated project than the others because it will be one new Disney musical. It doesn’t work the same for me ...at the moment ^^ because for the record Moana was a Disney musical too. And I didn't think it was as impressive as other Disney films :-/ …both as a Disney soundtrack and a movie :O)
04. Jungle Cruise — July 30, 2021 (I’m a sucker for any movie based on a Disney Park attraction ^^’ XD Tomorrowland is my favourite Disney live-action movie of the decade. And Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl is my favourite of the decade before that. Plus, it seems they put a lot of efforts into making this one, so I’m definitively looking for that! Then, I also enjoy going on this ride whenever I visit the American Disney Parks
and the trailers share some good vibes from the attraction imo.)
05. Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings — July 09, 2021 (Speak about one crazy promising MCU expansion =O New horizons lie ahead! =) Can't wait for Doctor Strange 2 too)
06. Cruella — May 28, 2021 (Based of the photos sets and what has leaked, I think they have here a GOLDEN opportunity to make a great comedy (nothing too serious, but quality in the humour.) The little we saw during the movies panel during last D23 Convention also goes into that direction.. So I would be VERY disappointed if Disney missed to see this opportunity
Don’t let us down once again like with these other uninspired remakes ^^' The fact that they chose to set the story during the 70’s in London made my enthusiasm grow too.
07. Eternals — November 05, 2021 (Could be one good Marvel movie
)
08. Black Widow —May 07, 2021 (Although I love the character and it’s good she FINALLY gets her own movie, I think the wait for this one has been way TOO long. And the recurrent rescheduling have kind of killed my anticipation for it.)
09. Everybody’s Talking About Jamie — February 26, 2021 (although I’m a huge fan of Broadway and West End musical productions, this one still remains in my Watch list. I love Kinky Boots, Hedwig, and I’m curious to know how this one will work on me
)
As for the others projects, either I know too little about them yet to feel quite enthusiastic at the moment, or, in some specific cases, I just don’t care (~the bloody remakes! TLM remake, Peter Pan remake ^^’)
01. Raya and the Last Dragon — March 12, 2021 (One word: Epicness

But as I explained it to you there, I'm afraid these information are strictly confidential, and I am just not allowed to talk about it.
Hopefully, Disney will share about it soon enough!

Re: Most anticipated Disney movie of 2021
I'm not going to make a list as I'm not looking forward to any of these. I mean, I will check out Raya And The Last Dragon and Cruella but am I excited to watch them ? Meh. I will also watch the next Spider-man chapter but only because Tobey Mcguire and Kirsten Dunst (
!!!!) are returning. I've never watched the two that were released but these two returning are enough to convince me to check it out.
