The Book of Mormon: The Musical: The Movie

Post by Sotiris »

Trey Parker and Matt Stone are bringing their Broadway hit musical, The Book of Mormon, to the big screen. Last week reports surfaced from DiscussingFilm that Trey Parker and Matt Stone were working on a new movie titled, Alma Junction. Our source who works in the theater industry tells us that Alma Junction is just “code” for The Book of Mormon.

Our source also tells us that Vickie Thomas will be casting the film. DiscussingFilm also reported that Scott Rudin is set to produce the film with Pawel Pogorzelski set as cinematographer. Based on some new information we have obtained it looks like filming on the movie is set for mid March 2020. As with all filming dates anything could change so we will continue to monitor the news.

Do you think they'll cast Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells in the film version or no? I hope so...

I think it depends on which direction they'll go in. They could want it to be super-faithful to the original show and cast them.

Oh, that was a really dumb thing for me to say. I just realized the characters are probably sent out on missions at teenage age. Nevermind. Gad and Rannells are ten years older than they were then.
