News that shook me and the rest of the world; Wes Craven, creator of A Nightmare on Elm Street and director of over a dozen horror films has passed away after his battle with brain cancer. He was 76:
A talented man and a visionary horror director. Let' not even forget that A Nightmare on Elm Street saved New Line from bankruptcy and made it the studio it is today.
While I haven't seen any of Craven's works, he was such an important figure to the horror genre and I'm sure this must be quite depressing to a number of people. It's always sad when a great film director passes, though.
