Okay, I'm reading the book before I go see it and so far it's awesome.
I can't wait till the third movie comes to theatres! I really liked the other ones.
I saw a trailer about it on Warner bros. website. If anyone else likes the movies and
really wants to see this one, then go ahead and talk about it here.
I've read all but the most recent book, and I've not done that because I am a little sick of the character and the story. Someone really needs to edit Rowling. I can't speak for #5 specifically,
As for the films, I found the first quite boring, as it stuck too CLOSELY too the book. Normally this is a good thing, but a book and a film are two different mediums - you can't pace a film as you would a book.
The second film I saw on DVD (the first I had seen at the cinema), and I did actually enjoy it more. Perhaps this was because I wasn't expecting much.
I will certainly wait for the 3rd on DVD, although it does look like a slightly cooler cast in this one, as the tone gets a little darker.
On a related note, rumour has it the 4th one will be split into 2 movies. What a lame idea... (and I say that will all due respect to Kill Bill)
I will be seeing the Prisoner of Azkaban in theaters pretty much only because I already saw the others in theater. Not only that, but my favorite character, Sirius, is in it!
Most definitely! Although the first two films were rather safe and pedestrian (moreso with the first than the second), I loved them immensely, anyway. I've been following the progress of the third movie long enough to know that this WON'T be safe and pedestrian. Alfonso Cuaron's taking risks in making this story his own while still remaining faithful to the spirit of the text, and that's EXACTLY how I want it. Unlike most fans, I don't want a word for word adaptation with little to no artistic license. I want to be surprised when viewing this. I want things to come up where I don't expect them, but then realize, "Hey, this could've been in the book!" I never went though that with movie 1 (all through that one my only reaction was "How will they portray ___" as I always knew what was coming up next). Movie 2 faired better as Chris Columbus branched out a bit more into taking artistic license (mainly beefing up the action sequences), and the movie ended up being a better effort than the previous one for that, and even felt more like the book despite it being not as literal. I have HUGE hopes for movie 3. I've only seen two of Alfonso's films (A Little Princess and Great Expectations), but I've loved them both. I'll be seeing this on opening night, hopefully on an IMAX screen (the movie's debuting on both normal screens and IMAX ones).
Wow, that post ended up being longer than I thought...
I am looking forward to this movie immensely! This was my all time favorite of her books so I am ecstatic that it is being released this year!
Like so many other people, I have read all the books and loved all of them! Sure, I am an adult but I still like to keep my inner child alive with Harry Potter and of course my childhood favorite, Disney.
Even though the Harry Potter series has quite a cult following it, I don't care. The movies are great but the books are even better. It's just neat to see what i've been reading taking visual form.
Inigo: I do not mean to pry, but you don't by any chance happen to have six fingers on your right hand?
Westley: Do you always begin conversations this way?
Inigo: You seem a decent fellow. I hate to kill you.
Westley: You seem a decent fellow. I hate to die.
Most certainly seeing it opening night. Everyone should read the books at least once. Did anyone hear that the Goblet of Fire is rumored to have a budget of 300 million, making it the most expensive movie ever.
I read the Harry Potter Books and saw the first 2 movies, but I would wait to see it on DVD.
Still have to catch up on Book 4 and 5 (didn't finish reading them).
I rather save my money to see other movie like Spider-Man 2 or Scooby-Doo 2.

yeah i am going to see the Prisoner of Azkaban in theaters. i think the reason that the 4th movie will be splited into two parts are because of these reasons:
1. the movie is way to long that a person would not sit in a theater for 4 or more hours
2. the people who are making the films want to make more money by separating the films so people would to pay once to see the first part and again to see the second part
boy Hollywood can be so annoying.
Well, Goblet of Fire director Mike Newell has confirmed that movie 4 will be one whole film and not broken up into two parts. I'm very interested to see how he accomplishes this...
I heard that J.K. Rowling might not do the other movies, just the books because the actors/actresses are getting to old. I'm not sure if this is true or not.
As for the movie, I'll probably be seeing it with my friend in the theatres. If not, then I'll wait for the DVD.

Well, technically, J.K. Rowling is not the person making the films.
