R.I.P. Mickey Rooney
Mickey Rooney, the legendary Hollywood actor who we all remember as Lampie from Disney's "Pete's Dragon" has passed away yesterday. He was 93.
He leaves behind a huge legacy of over 200 films. Our condolences to his family and friends.

Re: R.I.P. Mickey Rooney
Wow, he literally devoted his entire life to motion pictures.
He also starred as Adult Todd in The Fox and the Hound, and was caricatured in the 1939 Donald Duck short, The Autograph Hound (along with Shirley Temple among many others).

I believe he was named as a Disney Legend too, right? He sure contributed a lot for Disney.Semaj wrote:Wow, he literally devoted his entire life to motion pictures.

So, we're back at moving threads arbitrarily, huh? And how is this off topic when he was in a very famous Disney film?

My favorite Rooney films are the ones with Judy, especially Babes In Arms, Strike Up The Band, Babes On Broadway and Girl Crazy. But I also love Pete's Dragon and The Fox and the Hound.

He was such a wonderful actor and was a great childhood memory for many people, may he rest in peace.

Rest in Peace. I knew him mainly as the voice of adult Tod in "The Fox and the Hound".

Re: Mickey Rooney has Died at the age of 93
A thread already existed in the off-topic forum regarding the passing of Mickey Rooney. As it was recent news, it wouldn't have been that hard to find. Given that the breadth of his entire career is not contingent upon one Disney film (or his two voice roles and one DCOM), discussion of Robert and his career need not be limited to just one studio-specific section of his filmography. Since your thread came mere hours after this one, you clearly did not bother to look for it, making this an obvious violation of the forum rules and guidelines, which EVERY member agrees to follow upon joining this forum. Consider *this* a warning.Angeldude98 wrote:So, we're back at moving threads arbitrarily, huh? And how is this off topic when he was in a very famous Disney film?
Further discussion about thread moving and its ramifications can be done in the appropriate thread in our Feedback forum. Any continuation of the discussion elsewhere will be seen as circumventing moderators' decisions, and may result in warnings or other serious action. In short, knock it off.
Albert (who did not merge the threads but applauds the moderator who did. To keep this on topic, he also misses Mickey Rooney)

Re: Mickey Rooney has Died at the age of 93
My apologies. I moved the thread during a very short time frame in which I was able to check the forum. There was a thread created in Off-Topic prior to the thread in General Discussion, which is why I hastily made the decision to merge. I regret that I did not create a shadow in General Discussion so that you would have been more aware of the merge. As it stands, I do hope it wasn't too difficult for you to switch over to a different forum section. Two completely similar conversations are not necessary.Angeldude98 wrote:So, we're back at moving threads arbitrarily, huh? And how is this off topic when he was in a very famous Disney film?
Baaack on topic. This was stupid Sunday night news. Sunday nights suck anyway. Nobody needed find out that Mickey Rooney had died.
