This is a question for LD owners of the work-in-progress edition of "Beauty and the Beast". I've heard that cut on the DVD edition is different from the original cut available on laser disc. My question: is the original edition that different? What was changed on the DVD?
IMDb states that the work-in-progress version had the original "Be Our Guest" scene with Maurice. As you must know, the edition on the DVD has the final version of that sequence.
Oh, Gosh, Beauty and the Beast would have benefited SO much if it has a third extra disc! This is the film which really deserved a gift set, with an extra disc with the work-in-progress version, the original making of featurette and trailer.

Work in progress LD
I agree the work in progress could have been a DVD set on its own but considering i have it at all i am happy.
I have not compared it to my LD so off hand i can not say what may be different. The bonus materials on the LD were sadly missing from the DVD but since it was for Beauty and the Beast the work in progress was i think an extra. The alternate scene is on the LD and i was amazed to find out that maurice was suppose to be at the dinner table instead of Belle.
There is other interesting extras on the LD dont have it in front of me to list though them.
I am curious now to see if the work in progress somehow changed.

Yes I loved the song done by Maurice!
