"The 'X' Factor" Season Three discussion.........

Post by dvdjunkie »

It's back!! Simon Cowell and the gang are back for another run and this time they have brought along some new faces. Returning is Demi Lovato, and my favorite judge, Kelly Rowland, and Paulina Rubio.ing.

Looks like we are really going to have a pretty good contest this year and the past two nights of auditions have revealed some very good talent, and a couple that I didn't agree with at all, but I think that as I get older I am getting pickier about how a person sounds singing a classic song.

Paulina Rubio. :)

i heard the show over the past two nights from the computer as my mom watched it. Competition shows aren't my thing, but I did watch last season on and off. There definitely seems to be some talent going on here, as they also seemed to be cutting back on the wackier contestants and stick to the better ones. Not a bad call, really. I also still love Demi and Simon's chemistry, which was my highlight last year. The jury's still out on Kelly and Paulina, but they seem more interesting than Britney or LA Reid, neither of which seemed to really care or do anything, so I'm probably in their favor as of now.

This past week the 40 finalists were assigned to their mentors.

Simon Cowell got the groups.

Paulina Rubio got the boys

Demi Lovato got the girls

Kelly Rowland got the over 25's.

Next Wednesday it really gets going with the "Final Four Chair Challenge". There is no boot camp this year, so the contestants have to sing their butts off to make it to the Final Four. Then the live shows will start. Should be interesting.

Of course Simon got the groups. He wants more of that 1D/Fifth Harmony money. :P

I haven't been keeping up as much with the season, but it seems to be going interesting as of now.

There is no 'boot camp' this year for the 40 contestants. Instead there will be four seats on the stage reserved for the four best singers or groups. They call it the 'Four Chair Challenge". Over the nexst couple of weeks the singers will be given another chance to sing for the judges and claim one of those four seats as their own.

After all the dust has settled, we will get the live shows started. There are so many good singers this season, it is going to be hard for them to be told to go home.

It all starts tonight at 8 pm Eastern/7 pm Central and should be a very good show.

The Four Chair Challenge went really smoothly, although there were some people in the audience who didn't agree with the choices a couple of the coaches made, I think they all have really strong teams.

"The 'X' Factor" is now on a two and a half week break, and when they return with the live shows at the end of this month, it will be time for us to voice our choice. We have 16 Finalists and over the following four weeks, we will have a chance to vote for our favorites and see who wins this year's 'X' Factor crown.

After watching last night's show, I am just blown away by the girls, and the over-25's. There is going to be a lot of tears tonight as the Results show takes stage. Simon's groups are pretty strong, but there is definitely two groups that stand out as the one I would be their records as soon as they are released, and the others are just entertaining.

Can't believe that no one else is watching 'X' Factor or "The Voice". For sure, they are the two best 'talent' reality shows on television this year. And in March, The Voice will have Shakira and Usher back for Season Six.

I really like the coaches this year on 'X' Factor. Hope they keep them around for a couple of seasons. They seem to get along well and have strong ideas for their teams.

Well, here's a first! When the Results show started Mario Lopez explained that there had been some electrical foul-up with the voting methods used last night, and they would not be able to fairly eliminate any one of the contestants, so in the short one hour they had, all 13 performed one song of their choice once more for the audience, and we were told to vote before 10 a.m. Eastern time today.

At least we all know now that the voting system they have in place is not perfect, and does have its problems once in a while. Let's hope that we got it right for next Wednesday night, because one person will be sent home.

According to Entertainment Weekly, this could be a last season of "The 'X' Factor" for several reasons. One of them being the very poor ratings, and part of it because they were pre-empted for a little over two weeks because of the World Series coverage.

Last week's faux paus of a Results Show meant that no one knows who is staying or going home, and that is supposed to be revealed Wednesday night (Nov. 13) in the first minutes of the Competition night. One person will go and the other 12 will continue with a "Tribute to the 80's" songs.

My stand-out favorites include Rion Paige, the young handicapped girl with a voice of Superstar, and the young man with Tourette's Carlos, I believe that is his first name. Anyway, I really like the show, so far, and hope that it doesn't get put out to pasture. I really think that "X Factor" and "The Voice" could exist without very many little changes, but I am not a producer or sponsor of the show, so it is out of my hands.

Again, I don't let some idiot critic tell me if a show is good or not, I watch what I watch on television because it entertains me and makes me feel good.

The Results show last night was very surprising as America seemed to get it all wrong, and either didn't vote for their favorites, or their favorites are different than what the judges saw.

Rachel Potter and Sweet Suspense were sent home in the double elimination show which featured a fantastic live performance by Selena Gomez, and last year's runners-up 5th Harmony. Great performances by both and an all-around good night of music along with the eliminations.

Next Wednesday it will the Top Ten performing for our votes. Let's hope that America can get it right next week.

One Direction headlines the Results show tonight on "The 'X' Factor", as the contestants face another double elimination. The Top 10 performed music from The British Invasion stock of songs, and all performed admirably.

Would not surprise me if Coach Simon Cowell loses both of his team members tonight in the elimination. Restless Road and the "squeemish" duo (don't remember their names because they have been absolutely terrible all season, but are somehow surviving) could meet their end tonight.

Rion Paige is still a strong favorite to get into the Finals. We will see after tonight's Results show.

This week, the Top Eight perform for our votes, and on Thanksgiving night it will be the Results Show and two more contestants will be eliminated.

Musical guests include Demi Lovato and Michael Buble.

I am now looking for Rion Paige to make it to the Finals. She has such a strong voice and she makes you listen to her, she tries to make every song hers, and brings the coaches and audience to their feet every time she performs. She probably has one of the most perfect voices on the show.

It all starts Wednesday night with the performances and results are on Thursday. Are you going to be watching?

Oh yeah, form what I've heard, Rion's easily one of the best they have on the show! I have a feeling that she'll make it to at least the finals.

Tonight after Thanksgiving Dinner, everyone should watch "The 'X' Factor" Results show. The Top Eight will be downsized to the Top Six.

Last night's show was Big Band Night, and there were four singers that just blew the roof off the place with their songs. Rion Paige used a head microphone, and took to the stage with "Swinging", and it was so much fun to see her move about and actually have choreography that showed off her talents. I think she is one of the best of all the singers on the show.

Restless Road, the three-man Country Band did their take on "Life Is A Highway" and brought everyone to their feet. They have come such a long way, and I hope that they go at least to the Finals Week.

Tonight's musical guests on the Results show are Coach Demi Lovato, and Big Band artist Michael Buble'.

It all starts at 8 pm Eastern/7 Central time and should be a really good show. Remember, if you aren't voting you can't complain if your favorite goes home.

Wow!!! Was that ever a shock! Rion Paige and Josh Levi were the bottom two and one of them went home and it was Josh, after the four coaches tied in their vote who to send home. They were all shocked as was the audience that Rion was in the bottom two. Her performance was the stand-out of the Wednesday night show, but with all the marbles on the line, she came out for the sing-off ready to take the stage and make it her own. They finally had to go to the actual voting to make the final decision who stayed and who went home, and Rion Paige had the better total in votes.

Also when Demi Lovato took the stage for her performance, she really looked like she has added a few pounds. Not that it has hurt her talent-wise, she still has a great voice and can sing a song really well. Just noticed that she is carrying a little extra baggage.

Next week the Top Six will perform for our votes.

With Season Three coming to a close in a couple of weeks, the competitors in the Top Six put their hearts and souls on the line last night, and I am now really excited to see who the Final Four will be tonight!

Last night Jeff Gutt left it all on the stage with his performance of "Without You" and "Daniel". Rion Paige was amazing, and, as usual she had the whole coaching panel in tears after her second song.

Weakest performances last night were given by Carlos Oliveros, and Alex and Sierra. If either of those two make it through tonight to the Top Four, then I am really going to give up on this show. How these two have gotten this far is beyond me, but they either have a great fan base, or I am tone deaf.

Tonight's Results Show will be mind-boggling to say the least, whn the dust clears there will be only four standing. I am really rooting for Rion Paige and Restless Road and Ellon Santiago to get through and am sort of tossed between Jeff Gutt and two weaker artists mentioned above. I want my Final Four to be Restless Road, Jeff Gutt, Ellon Santiago, and Rion Paige!

Demi Lovato's team was destroyed last night as both of her singers were eliminated from the competition. Ellona Santiago and Rion Paige were sent home and now we have Paulina Rubio's Carlito Olivera, Kelly Rowland's Jeff Gutt, and Alex and Sierra and Restless Road from Simon Cowell's groups left in the competition.

Next week the Semi-Finals will cause two more to lose their dream and the following week will be the over-drawn Finals show.

Since my favorites have all been eliminated, I may not watch the last two weeks because there is no one on the show that I care for in the least, except Restless Road. Could it be possible that a group would win this thing? I don't think so, but according to Mario Lopez, host of the show, Alex and Sierra had the number one song on iTunes, so who knows!

If one is to believe everything they hear and read in the rumor mill, "The 'X' Factor" will have run its course and this will be the last season for it. Unable to generate enough viewers for the third consecutive season and changing judges like some people change clothes, it is no wonder.

I will watch this week's Finale, very reluctantly. Only to see that Alex and Sierra don't get the crown. I don't understand what people see in them, except they are a cute couple. They have no visible stage presence and I wouldn't buy a ticket to see them perform or waste my money on their records.

And, for sure, I don't want to Carlito Olivero win, because he just doesn't have the stage presence to be a star. He always looks like he is a puppy that was given a bath and put away still wet. Don't understand what the big deal is here.

My favorite, along with Rion Paige, is Jeff Gutt, and I think he should win this season hands down. He has given sterling performances since the auditions, and has gotten stronger with the passing weeks. I will be watching Wednesday and Thursday to see him win this whole thing.

After last night's three performances for America, I am still wondering why the only contestant to chose up-tempo songs was Jeff Gutt. And Alex & Sierra didn't improve their standing with me as they sounded off-key in their duet with Leona Lewis, and their final offering was just blah!!! Have nothing good to say about Carlito Olivero because he reverted back to his shell that his coach has tried to bring him out of all season. I just don't think Carlito was confident in any one of his three performances last night, and it showed.

Tonight is the Season Three Finale and a winner will be chosen by those of who voted. I am hoping that Jeff Gutt wins, but there is so much recognition and support for Alex & Sierra (which I don't understand) that they might just walk away with it. I hope not. All my votes went to Jeff Gutt.

Well I DVR's "The 'X' Factor" so I wouldn't have to set for two hours and watch junk leading up to the revelation of this year's winner. And as I figured, I wasn't totally shocked, but pissed when Alex and Sierra won the crown and the recording contract. I don't know what America saw in these two no-talents, but even during last night's show they sounded so off-key to each other, that it a strain to watch.

With this supposedly the last season of 'X' Factor, they could have really gone out a lot worse. I knew that it was going to be close between Jeff Gutt and Alex & Sierra, but never thought that the duo would win.

If "X Factor" never comes back it will be too soon!
