It's not. That's the cheesy "collection" title they're giving to the double blu-ray

I guess they think these aren't popular enough to warrant separate releases? Disappointing.

Ahh, oops my bad

Wondered how I had missed that all these years ! Treasure Island is actually one of my favorite Muppets, after the most recent one.

Wow. Even not so popular Muppet movies aren't safe.

Oh well, at least both movies are entertaining and good and are not cheap DTV sequels.

Do my eyes deceive me, or are we finally getting a Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack for older Muppet movies?

If so, I am so game!

Blech. Don't like that cover at all, and I don't like they're packaged together even if it does mean a cheaper price (honestly I'd paid full price for both movies, they're both fantastic movies) and it'll take up less shelf space (something that's becoming increasingly more important to me haha)... the only reason I'd prefer them separate is because I keep my Muppet movies in theatrical-release order, so I don't know where I'll be putting this one lol.

But I am glad that they're being released on Blu-ray at all and so soon!

This was unexpected!!!

I was kinda thinking we wouldn't see them til next year and separate!

I hope they don't pull what they did with their Double Feature releases from this summer. I also hope that (though it's VERY unlikely) Disney will reinstate the Universal logo for The Great Muppet Caper (even though it was an ITC production and Universal merely did nothing more than distributed it). Proof it did: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_UMHNAPFpY

The Great Muppet Caper/Muppet Treasure Island Blu This Dec.

Post by JiminyCrick91 »

Amazon has posted cover art and preorder info on a very curious double feature. December 10th this year we will be treated to the film two theatrical Muppet films in HD in the Of Pirates And Pigs Edition of The Great Muppet Caper/Muppet Treasure Island.

http://www.amazon.com/Great-Muppet-Cape ... sure+caper

All this leaves now are TV movies Muppets Wizard of Oz from Disney, It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie from NBC and the Direct to Video film Kermit's Swamp Years from Sony and ALL the Muppet movies will be out on Blu-Ray.

Man, this is how you're supposed to treat Muppet Wizard of Oz, not two of the best movies in the series.

I guess we should be thankful that at least it's two movies that are pretty decent or tolerable getting packaged together as opposed to Hunchback of Notre Dame getting packaged with... whatever the Hell that abomination was.

If this was like the Fantasia 2-Pack and the films were on separate discs, I'd actually welcome this release this way. Sadly, it won't be released that way. *sigh*

Just out of curiosity, is there any word on whether or not the soundtracks for both movies will be available online with the release date as with the last two Muppet films?

I would love it if Intrada could release complete soundtracks of The Great Muppet Caper and The Muppets (I know what I said) to tie-in with this release. Anyone know if the original score music for Caper still exists?

I would be so happy if they released the soundtracks. I've managed to track down the soundtrack to Treasure Island (and would gladly buy it if it were commercially readily available... I'm trying to give you my money, Disney!) but the only tracks I have from Great Muppet Caper are the ones released on the 25th anniversary CD from a few years ago.
