Annette Funicello in a new animated short!

I came across this today and thought some of you all would appreciate this. Kevin Kidney (half of the team behind the Soundsational Parade at Disneyland), designed an animated character of Annette from The Golden Horseshoe Revue and it was animated much like the opening title sequence from "The Misadventures Of Merlin Jones". The result is a brand new experimental animated short featuring Annette singing and dancing to promote the Annette Funicello Research Fund For Neurological Diseases. Check it out:

As disneyfella mentions in the thread, the main inspiration comes from the opening titles of an old Disney live-action film starring Annette called The Misadventures of Merlin Jones.

Not so coincidentally, the makers of those titles (Bill Justice and Xavier Atencio) also directed the short you posted (A Symposium on Popular Songs).

Also the artist who had originally done that animation along with many other Annette ones for Misadventures of Merlin Jones, Pineapple Princess to name a few. Has teamed up with the Annette Funicello Research Foundation and they have a line of items available with his images. All proceeds benefit her foundation to help find a cure for MS.
