I don't understand why Memes get so much fandom either but I know some people like them and I respect that even though I don't care for them and I probably never will but if that's ones taste in something I'm not going to scream and say Memes are stupid and so are people that watch it. Some people like some things and others like other things for instance someone might want to see a Cars 3 and a Titanic 2 but I would highly respectfully disagree with themTheValentineBros wrote:What's with the Nostalgia Critic fetish? That is what is great about people is that we all have differ likes and dislikes and opposite opinions.

It's not exactly fetish. I see him as the Angry Video Game Nerd of crappy movies (though the AVGN is far superior to me). I don't even watch every single he reviews but there were films I wanted him to review that he never got around to when he ended the series (presumably because other reviewers on the site already did them). He can be annoying at times but he does still make me laugh most of the time.

It's not a reupload of an older video as Demo Reel wasn't created in 2011. Also that must have been an error on the uploaders part. I found the one in full that says 16 hours ago. Also it's on www.thatguywiththeglasses.com website and trust me it's legit. Also the review he is doing next week is The Odd Life of Timothy Green which was not made in 2011.PixarFan2006 wrote:I clicked on the the video out of curiosity on Youtube (there were a couple) and noticed the upload date listed as far back as 2011. Also I check the website every day and this is 100% real

The other videos posted with that title from 2011 are actually not the video that was posted on ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com although it shares the same title. In 2011 the critic did a musical review of Moulin Rouge which featured oringal songs including 'The Review Must Go On'. The video Doug posted yesterday is named after that song and features it as score in places. He will indeed be back with new rules including every other week so to have more time for other projects and not burn out of ideas like last time and no more cut off dates on movies to be reviewed. As was said The Odd Life of Timothy Green will be reviewed on Febuary 5th.PixarFan2006 wrote:I clicked on the the video out of curiosity on Youtube (there were a couple) and noticed the upload date listed as far back as 2011. Timothy Green, huh? That's a weird choice. If there's no cutoff date, I want him to do Son of the Mask Catwoman, or some of the Disney films from the 2000s. He should still focus on the 80s/90s films too but these are examples.
They'll have to continue the end of To Boldly Flee for continuity sake (I did not see the whole thing save for some of the first part and for the ending).

I recommend that you watch the whole thing to find out how they worked out the To Boldly Flee situationPixarFan2006 wrote:Timothy Green, huh? That's a weird choice. While I am not surprised that he returns, what stuns me is how fast his "retirement" was. Oh sure people claim they are done with something, retire, and return, but this was super fast. I wouldn't be surprised if the reason why was...
- The fanbase began to dwindle when there was no Nostalgia Critics each week
- Website hits began to slowly drop since only a few of the site contributors are hit generators (especially since Spoony was pretty much banned from the site)
- Doug's other non-NC projects didn't attract as much attention as they hoped (I admit, I didn't care for his new stuff, and Sibling Rivalry was a spastic mess).
I may be being cynical, but when his return was this fast, something was afoot. But I'm just meh since I dropped out of the fanbase years ago (and have not looked back since, I do watch some videos but I decided to no longer focus on all of them so much)

A couple things:
1) I was really fine with Nostalgia Critic retiring if that's what Doug really wanted. It seemed like, in an era where The Simpsons lasts forever, SOMEONE was finally doing the smart thing of quitting while they were ahead.
2) My only quibble is, there needs to be SOME cutoff as to what counts as "nostalgia". It obviously pertains to a certain amount of time that has passed before something becomes a find memory. For me, it would have to be at least a decade old. The Odd Life of Timothy Green is not even six months old.
With those in mind, I'm looking forward to some new reviews.

"OH COME ON, REALLY?!?!"
