DMC wants to know what titles the fans want next!

Post by milojthatch »

I already posted this in the DMC section, but felt it was too big to just leave there.

On their official Facebook page, the Disney Movie Club is asking what titles the fans want to see as Exclusives next. Please, if you have not already done so, make sure you share with them what you want to see next!

Always great when they specifically ask what fans are looking for.

Merlinjones... I think the answer here is to get a Facebook... It is 2012, after all.

I may be alone on this but I want them to release Lilo & Stitch: The Series. I get a kick out of that show. At least they still play it on DisneyJr channel.

I think they really just want us to pick one title each, otherwise it wouldnt be multiple choice.

You're Not Alone, I want that out too. It's already out in Japan if I remember correctly.

Either way, this should be a no-brainer. Kim Possible and other shows need to be finished.

I agree, I'm happy that for once, Disney is asking the fans and not the other way around. The Facebook comment is a little mean however. Truthfully, if it wasn't for Open Vault Disney, I would not have a Facebook account. Publicly, I think Facebook is a great tool for campaigns and business, anything to get "the word" out. Personally, I think Facebook (and most social media for that matter) to be horrid. I find it to be a great way to waste time very easily and something that seems to ruin relationships. So I have no issue if someone doesn't have a Facebook account in 2012. Good for them I say, more time to work on more important things!

I hear ya on that one! the DMC needs to go international!

I agree. My concern is that some of the comments I'm seeing on this DMC Facebook post are too long. The rule of thumb (and my bad for not sharing this concern and feeling more, something I need to work on it would seem) is that if the list is too long, it's less likely to be looked at. I think asking for no more then 3 to 5 titles is the way to go if you need to ask for more then one. Believe me, I have long lists myself, and most of those lists look a lot like the ones here, but this will only work if we can break it into small portions when we share what we want with Disney.

The other thing is I worry about is that some are wasting their wish on the DMC releasing titles that are out of reach for the DMC to release. For now, titles like "The Muppet Show" or the various Disney Afternoon titles, if they end up released, are more likely to be retail. Asking for "uncensored" titles is a long shot as well for the DMC.

"Song of the South," while I'm happy fans keep asking for it, until the very top of the Disney company changes their feelings on it, it won't ever be released. I'm actually racking my head trying to figure out the best way to campaign for that title past just praying the next CEO is more friendly to it. I keep coming back to the idea that instead of campaigning Disney directly right now, we should campaign the NAACP to support it's release. I don't know, it's a head turner!

In all reality though, titles that have a better shot at being DMC Exclusives would be the rest of the live actions titles not yet released (like "Light in the Forest"), the rest of "Kim Possible" (especially since it was singled out in the original question), shows never released before like "The Wuzzles" or maybe "Disney's Doug," or bigger Disney Anthology tv films like "Horesmasters." Shows like "Zorro and Son" that only have a handful of episodes could work as it could be released on one to two discs. The DMC could be a great way to finish what the "Disney Treasures" line should have, sans the extras and packaging.

Just things that need to be kept in mind when asking!

ajmrowland wrote:Either way, this should be a no-brainer. Kim Possible and other shows need to be finished.
Bingo! I can't say it better then that! My gut tells me asking for shows that have started to be released and are half way released are the best ways to go first.

I hate to tell you this, but my sources tell me it is not looking good for the "Not Quite Human" films ever coming to DVD as of right now. Music rights issues. But, as I always say, never say never! The steeper the mountain, the grander the reward!
