DVD authoring software

Post by bmadigan »

does anyone know of a DVD authoring software package that allows you to create custom menus, with you own artwork and buttons?

Surprised there's no reply.

I use TMPGEnc DVD Author. It's a bit primitive but it works well, you can give it an image (or a video, I think?) and pick from several different shapes of menu buttons, move them around etc etc.

It's not free, but anything's free if you know where to look

What I want to do is copy the menu style of an existing DVD.

Well, DVD menus are essentially nothing more than a video with clickable buttons. You can take any video (assuming it's in proper DVD format) and make "buttons" on top of it.

So if you're looking at doing elaborate moving menus such as retail DVDs have, you might be better off using a video editing program to make the clip, then just load it in PgcEdit and add the menu buttons.

There's obviously more involved than what I'm saying, but it's highly technical and you probably don't want to spend the time anyway
