Snow White is coming to the stage:
IMDB wrote:Disney posted an audition notice Wednesday indicating that it plans to mount a stage version of its first animated feature, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, at its Disneyland Park in California beginning in late February or early March. To play the role of Snow White, Disney Entertainment Productions said, the producers are looking for a singer who is "graceful, eloquent, optimistic, romantic, has a contemporary sense about her." They're also looking for seven short men who are trained dancers. Auditions for all roles are scheduled to be held at the Hollywood Methodist Church on Monday.
Also, last week the UK Daily Mail revealed that there's going to be a musical 101 Dalmatians on the London Stage (apparently will real Dalmatians - not sure how that will work!)
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Snow White: An Enchanting Musical

Post by Leonia »

Yesterday morning I saw a commercial advertising "Snow White: The Musical" showing at Disneyland/California Adventures (forgot which one) while I was getting ready for school. I knew Disney was thinking of a "Little Mermaid" Broadway play (musical?), but didn't remember Snow White coming to the stage.

Then I remembered seeing something about it at IMDB.com:
'Snow White' Coming to the Stage

Disney posted an audition notice Wednesday indicating that it plans to mount a stage version of its first animated feature, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, at its Disneyland Park in California beginning in late February or early March. (November 6, 2003)
So, anyone been to Anaheim, lately and seen it?

It looks like something Mom might want to see for Mother's Day/her birthday (June), since Snow White was the first Disney film she saw when she immigrated to the US.

Based on the pictures I've seen from it thus far, the Dwarfs look normal sized. It looks like a very high quality show, though, based on what I've seen/read on sites like MousePlanet.

On Larry King Live, Eisner said he was about to fly out to see the show open in Disneyland.

Well, after waiting close to an hour in line, I finally got to see the new musical and found it worth my while. In fact, I think it's better than the Aladdin musical in California Adventure.

Pretty much no scene is cut from the movie, only shortened. Also, the relationship between Snow White and the Prince has been strengthened somewhat, improving on the movie. The sets, while unlike the look of the movie, were gorgeous.

I highly recommend everyone go see this if possible. It was a highlight of my day. If you have any more questions, just ask. :)

I've seen it twice since it's right next door to California Adventure, it's an awesome show. I can't decide if I like it more than Aladdin, but it's nice to know that Disneyland Resort has the two best stage shows then any other Disney theme park...hands down.

I hope I get to go to Disneyland someday. :( This is just one more reason to want to go there. I get to see the BATB show again at WDW this summer though! :D

Beauty and the Beast at Disney-MGM Studios is nice, but it's NOTHING compared to the Aladdin and Snow White Musicals at Disneyland. :)
