Wow, excellent, thank you for sharing that info! I'm looking forward to more and more of the 90's films making their way to Blu-ray, so Mulan is definitely good news. I haven't seen Robin Hood in a while, and although it is not one of my favorites, I'd still be interested in getting it on Blu-ray.

Please keep us posted if you discover other titles going OOP in the future! :)

Though it's already been reported online, this confirms it, may I ask how you know they will be released in 2012?

And since Pocahontas and Pooh are currently OOP are they coming out this year?

Pooh will probably be re-released on DVD (and perhaps even on Blu-ray?) when the new movie hits theaters.

Surprised, but more than delighted to hear this news!

Let's just hope Mulan isn't paired as a double-feature with Mulan II.

Not a big fan of Robin Hood, but a Blu-ray release for Mulan makes me very happy. One of my favourites from the '90s.

Robin Hood has been my favourite DAC since I was a kid and it was the first DAC I bought on DVD. Definitely looking forward to having that one on Blu-Ray. But I do hope they add some more extras. The DVD has some games, songs, and a short. I hope they put some behind-the/scenes/making of featurette on there.

Okay, thanks for the information! I'd better hurry up and buy Robin Hood before it leaves stores.

How is the current 2-disc Mulan that's available? Are the special features good? I'm wondering whether or not to buy it before it's OOP.

Mulan & Robin Hood!

Post by Christopher_TCUIH »

Yeah! This is awesome! Will it only be blu ray?

The Mulan special features are pretty good. It has:

-Deleted Scenes
I've never watched them haha

-Music Videos (of course haha)
I saw the Jackie Chan one

-Games
I've never played them haha

-Backstage Disney
This one has all the goodies (in my opinion). There aren't long documentaries but it has some that talk about the legend of Hua Mulan, Character design, there's art galleries, & It talks about the music they used in the film! :)

Excited for the Robin Hood Blu-Ray. I don't expect much for new supplements, but I really hope it's actually something worthwhile. Surely they can scrounge up something else to offer beyond the deleted scene and paltry 48-image still gallery. Hopefully they can make a PiP option similar to Alice in Wonderland's "Through the Keyhole" feature. Especially since much can surely be said about the Robin Hood legend. I also hope the demo versions of "Love" and "Phony King of England" are included. They had a country feel to them, and were uploaded to YouTube a couple years ago, but I can't find them anymore.

The Mulan two-disc set was fine in 2004, and I expect all the supplements will be carried over. In terms of new supplements, I'd like to see a new documentary (as the featurettes on the second disc felt disjointed and incomplete) that gives a more direct "story" of how the film was made, this time with input from the voice cast, as they were not interviewed in the 2004 featurettes, save for the Mulan II sneak peek, harrumph!

I suppose I'll get Robin Hood on it's Blu-Ray re-release. Wondering when Hercules and Hunchback will get on the OOP list and herald something new...

While I'm not interested in re-buying "Robin Hood," I am a fan and if I didn't already have it, I'd defiantly go after the Blu Ray when it comes out.

I'd buy "Mulan" in a second assuming it retains or sufficiently replaces the special features from the two-disc DVD, but I'd probably be reluctant to go for "Robin Hood" unless there's like some kind of coupon or the disc is remarkably exceptional (I doubt the latter).

I am excited for Mulan on blu, Robin Hood not so much. I hardly ever watched it when I had it on DVD.

I just watched the 10th Anniversary release the other night and tried to imagine how great it would look on blu. I am looking forward to Mulan, I know it'll look great with the upgrade as well. I'm a little worried about FatH and Robin Hood though. Do we know if they are getting or have been restored since their last releases? I can't imagine them looking that great on blu...

The 25th Anniversary Fox and the Hound DVD was a poor-quality transfer IMO, very grainy and dirty-looking. Sure didn't look like there was any restoration!

Why Disney keeps re-releasing everything (even black cauldron) but Hunchback and Hercules is beyond me
