Jackoleen's "It RELATES to Disney" Quiz!

Post by Jackoleen »

Dear Disney Enthusiasts,

The following quiz deals with facts that somehow RELATE to Disney movies, actors, etc., in some way. Have fun!

* Disney's "The Parent Trap" concerned identical sisters. Which 1960s t.v. show seemed to borrow this idea by starring one actress as two identical relatives?

* The oldest son from the Disney movie "The Wild Country" was better known as which t.v. character before he co-starred in "TWC"?

* Helen Reddy played Nora in "Pete's Dragon"; in that movie, she sang a comforting song for someone whom she cared about. During which earlier movie had she sung a comforting song to a Linda Blair character?

* At one point, a video about morals was sent to teachers for use in the classroom. Which Disney movie's characters were featured in the educational video?

* During which decade did Mattel finally start to release Disney princess fashion dolls, and what was the name of the only known company to have done so before then?

* Which type of state institution oftentimes strives to be UNLIKE Disneyland?

* Which classic Disney actress could have played the role of Lolita, had her father not said "NO!", and which more modern Disney actress was considered for the role when the movie of "Lolita" was remade, but was later glad that she HADN'T been cast in the movie?[/b] I'd say Hayley Mills for the classic Disney actress, and possibly Lindsay Lohan for the modern Disney actress. 'Tis guess work.

* Which live-action Disney actor recently made a total fool of himself when he practically went postal on a movie light technician?

* What do Cliff Edwards and Bobby Driscoll have in common, with regards to their lives after Disney?

* Which "Facts of Life" star had been on the 1970s rendition of "The Mickey Mouse Club"?

* During the 1993 movie "Jurassic Park", Disneyland is INCORRECTLY said to have opened during which year?

* Which "Sex and The City" star once appeared in a Disney movie?

* The female star of the 1978 movie "Ice Castles" went on to star in which unpopular Disney movie?

* Give the alternate meaning of the name "Mickey Mouse".

* Which unpopular, late 1970s Disney movie was said to have been a bad, would-be imitation of "Star Wars"?

Thank you in advance for your replies.

* During which decade did Mattel finally start to release Disney princess fashion dolls, and what was the name of the only known company to have done so before then? the 90's

* Which type of state institution oftentimes strives to be UNLIKE Disneyland?

* Which classic Disney actress could have played the role of Lolita, had her father not said "NO!", and which more modern Disney actress was considered for the role when the movie of "Lolita" was remade, but was later glad that she HADN'T been cast in the movie? Annette Funicello

* Which live-action Disney actor recently made a total fool of himself when he practically went postal on a movie light technician?

* What do Cliff Edwards and Bobby Driscoll have in common, with regards to their lives after Disney?

* The female star of the 1978 movie "Ice Castles" went on to star in which unpopular Disney movie? Something Wicked This Way Comes

* Give the alternate meaning of the name "Mickey Mouse". Mortimer Mouse

* Which unpopular, late 1970s Disney movie was said to have been a bad, would-be imitation of "Star Wars"? The Black Hole.

* During which decade did Mattel finally start to release Disney princess fashion dolls, and what was the name of the only known company to have done so before then? 2000s, and possibly Tomy.

* Which type of state institution oftentimes strives to be UNLIKE Disneyland? Erm...prison? The unhappiest place on earth? :p

* Which classic Disney actress could have played the role of Lolita, had her father not said "NO!", and which more modern Disney actress was considered for the role when the movie of "Lolita" was remade, but was later glad that she HADN'T been cast in the movie? * Which live-action Disney actor recently made a total fool of himself when he practically went postal on a movie light technician?

* What do Cliff Edwards and Bobby Driscoll have in common, with regards to their lives after Disney? They went downhill into a vicious circle of drink and drugs, and died unidentified. :|

* Which "Facts of Life" star had been on the 1970s rendition of "The Mickey Mouse Club"?

* During the 1993 movie "Jurassic Park", Disneyland is INCORRECTLY said to have opened during which year? Would it be 1967? I vaguely remember this quote (which I'm trying to remember), which implies so:
A: When Disneyland first opened, everything malfunctioned.
B: Yes, but the pirates in Pirates of the Caribbean didn't eat the guests.

* Which "Sex and The City" star once appeared in a Disney movie? Sarah Jessica Parker starred in Hocus Pocus.

* The female star of the 1978 movie "Ice Castles" went on to star in which unpopular Disney movie? Lynn Holly Johnson starred in The Watcher in the Woods.

* Give the alternate meaning of the name "Mickey Mouse". I seem to remember reading once in a "Disney and Europe" essay that it was used in Weimar-era Berlin (just before the Nazis came into power) as a codename for homosexuals. And of course, describing things as being "Mickey Mouse" could mean that they're of little merit (e.g. She's gone to some unprestigious university to do some Mickey Mouse degree).

* Which unpopular, late 1970s Disney movie was said to have been a bad, would-be imitation of "Star Wars"? The Black Hole, I suppose (since they're both sci-fi films)

Thank you in advance for your replies.

The Patty Duke Show

Mattel started making Disney dolls in the 1990s. Before that, Horsman made some fashion dolls (most notably Mary Poppins dolls in the 1960s and 70s -- not princess, I know) and Tyco made an Ariel doll line shortly before Mattel took over. I know that the Simba company has made princess dolls for a long time too, but I think they're European.

Tyco Ariel dolls were first released somewhere between 1989 and 1990. I got the first one (with the original face mold) shortly after seeing the movie, you see. It wasn't until the 1997 theatrical release, I believe, that Mattel started to make Ariel dolls.
