My Friend Died Yesterday Morning

Post by kenai3000 »

Another death for me within 2 months geez, but a friend of mine passed away yesterday morning. You can read about it here http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A ... ts&h=272a9

I really don't know how to take it, but I am shocked, and I wished that I could have spoken to him one last time.

I will pray for you and his family, death is never a welcome thing, especially under circumstances such as these...Death has struck my family many many times....from my Grandmother dying in a housefire, to how my cousin in law died 24hours after she gave birth and her husband was already heading home from Iraq when she died... I send my condolences to you and his familiy and friends....

Well, another angel in Heaven! I am sorry for your loss, dear. Eternal rest, grant unto him/her oh Lord. May your perpetual light shine upon him/her. May his/her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.

Kenai, I am so, so very sorry that you have lost this friend of yours. That's terrible how it happened, but I wonder if he even realized he was inhaling smoke, I wonder why they didn't get out of the house in time.

I just prayed for both of you.

I have to ask, Goliath, what is that lyric from? I think I sang that song auditioning for Footloose, the stage musical version, which used old pop songs in the show (because the movie used them, I think).

Kenai, my sincerest condolences to you, and all the other friends and family members of this victim. It's really tragic that this happened. You are all in my thoughts.

A song by Bob Dylan, no less! Though it has been covered by a number of other artists since.

They were sleeping when this happened. It was just confirmed that the woman in critical condition died last night.

Oh they were sleeping. Wow. So, then at least, maybe he slept right through, it and didn't feel the pain as he slipped away. And I can't believe that woman died, too, I feel sorry for her now, too. But I also hope your friend, and her, are going to a good place up there.

And that wasn't the song I sang, I sang Almost Paradise, which had a lyric like that in it. I should have known it would be a Bob Dylan song!

I'm very sorry to hear this, Kenai. I lost a close friend in an unexpected accident last year. It's not an easy thing to cope with. I will pray for you, and for your friend's family.

I'm very sorry to hear this; I lost friends in a fire many years ago and I know how hard it is. I'm not sure what I can say to help, but you and your friend's family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I think most people know the song from the Guns 'N Roses cover, but it's indeed a 1973 Bob Dylan song, made for the soundtrack of Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid.

I have never lost a friend like that. I can't imagine what that must feel like. I wish you and your friends' relatives all the best.

Here's a letter I wrote.

Dear Jake,

The last time I talked to you was 6 years ago on the phone, and I was such a brat for getting upset when you said you couldn't hang out with me. Who knew that it was the last time I'd ever talk to you. My heart was shattered when I heard of your passing Saturday night while I was watching Ren & Stimpy. It is so hard to believe that you're not with us anymore. Tears are flowing down my eyes as I type this. I miss you so much buddy I just wish I could have spoken to you one last time as I love you with all of my heart.

Your dear friend,
Tommy P.
