Spider-Man (1967)

Post by ohmahaaha »

I see that Amazon now has Spider-Man 1967 from BVHE up for pre-order, and I am sorely tempted, but I just want to make sure ...

When this package was originally announced that it was in preparation sometime last year it was stated that the music soundtrack was going to be re-recorded. There was some speculation about whether or not this was going to be a restoration of the original music soundtrack, or if they were going to overdub a new music soundtrack.

To me, this is a critical issue in my purchasing decision; to me, the original music soundtrack was one of the best things about the show. Does anyone know, or has anyone heard anything, about this now that the package is ready to go? Will we be getting the original music or did they overdub with a new music soundtrack? :?:

I would hope, being a DVD they will give the user the option. It's possible, Alice Masterpeice had the original mono soundtrack
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Hopefully, given that this is one of BVHEs first animated TV box sets, they will get it right first time out of the box and give us the original mono as well.

The press release seems to indicate: "This nostalgic six-DVD set brings together all 52 fully restored classic Spider-Man episodes from
the original 1967 TV series." To me, "fully restored" means new sound as well, but I guess we will probably only know once the reviews start rolling in (i.e. when someone has it in their hands) what is actually on it. Typical BVHE.
