Star Trek fans may want to check this out:

It would be cool I think to see a director's cut of "Star Trek V." According to William Shaner, one of the reasons it sucked was because the budget was cut and much of the SFX that was intended for the film never saw the final cut as a result. It would be nice to see Mr. Shatner get a chance to prove to us that his film doesn't suck after all.

"Star Trek: The Motion Picture" and Richer Donner's version of "Superman II" both got these treatment, why not "Trek V?"

I don't believe that many extra sequences were filmed, since they didn't have the budget to do most of them anyway. And just adding new effects isn't going to make any movie better. Like Alien3, the best would be to start all over again, but that's never going to happen.
