Not BR release per say but I don't want to add another topic so here goes.

Disney with the releases of TBC and TGMD will have few releases left they can revisit for a double dip. Those which are non-Platinums are:

Hercules
Hunchback of Notre Dame
Rescuers
Rescuers Down Under
Make Mine Music
Fun and Fancy Free
Melody Time
Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad

Considering they have been re-releasing two of their GCs per year next year would either be Herc and Hunch or the Rescuers duo. The rest may not get another release.

So talking about those 4, I think, in all honesty, that there is no reason (although Alice DVD proves otherwise) to not have BR releases for them. I'd like it to be Herc and Hunch but I'm not so sure what'll happen.

If Alice does go Blu next year, chances are Pooh might too as a tie-in. Disney are stingy so then will Herc and Hunch go Blu too? Seems like overload from Disney's standpoint when they have Lion King, Rapunzel and Bambi.

I hope they decide on releasing Dumbo this year as well as Pocahontas meaning that the chances of having 4 non-Platinum catalogue titles rises tenfold.

Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh will undoubtedly be released on blu-ray a month or two before the new Pooh movie is released in theaters to promote it. If they don't do that, they're stupid.

It would be a lot easier if you just color coordinated your list. Highlight those already released on Blu in Blue, upcoming/announced releases could just be Green (for green-lit) or some other color that makes sense. Heck, you could use Bolds and Italics if you want, just something to to make things stand out. As it is, your list is a little hard to read.

Can anyone confirm if the R2 Blu-Ray of Meet the Robinsons has the 5.1 Effects Only Track?

And yet if it was not, I wouldn't be surprised. As much as Disney is pushing BluRay, at the same time they aren't really. By this point in DVD's existence, there were many more Disney Animated films on DVD. Disney has in all honesty not released many of these same films on BluRay and I'm starting to wonder if they will.

It really doesn't matter to me though as I'm not re-buy films I already own. I'll only by new films on BluRay.

Yes, it will be rereleased on Blu-ray under the Diamond Edition line, as it is currently a Platinum Edition Blu-ray. As for the changes, I can't imaging the PQ/AQ being any better but I'm sure we'll see some differences in supplemental material. This also applies to Sleeping Beauty, currently a Platinum, which will be re-released in the Diamond line.

Sleeping Beauty has already received two great sets so they should just combine the releases.

Pity that many others remain lacking and Disney continue to screw up their new releases.

I see no reason for them to drop anything from Fantasia but they probably will. They can also save space on the BATB by not including that idiotic IMAX re-release which was pointless.

Pinocchio and Sleeping Beauty are going to be re-released? That's ridiculous. Why not just make them Diamond Editions in the first place? Any ideas as to when this might be?

Pinocchio was release a year ago, so approx. 7 years from now.

And the IMAX release of BATB is not idiotic. That's your close-minded opinion.

People are assuming the Platinum line will just repeat under the Diamond banner on blu-ray.

Well that's what they announced during their press release explaining the Diamond line:
Diamond Collection is the definitive collection of the Walt Disney Studios most historic and beloved animated classics that will debut on Blu-ray™ Hi-Def....

13 of Disney’s most treasured titles, including: Beauty and the Beast; Fantasia and Fantasia 2000; The Lion King; Bambi; Cinderella; Lady and the Tramp; The Little Mermaid; Peter Pan; The Jungle Book; 101 Dalmatians; Sleeping Beauty; and Pinocchio.

It pains me that I'm going to have to wait so many years to get my favorite Disney Classics 101 Dalmatians and Jungle Book on blu-ray.

And I also don't get why Disney isn't going to release the animated Alice in Wonderland on blu-ray, surely the transfer must be virtually perfect by now, and on top of that they could even get away with selling it alongside the Tim Burton version in some sort of double-pack. I guess the transfer is the problem here - and an over-crouded schedule.

I would say that the odds are pretty high that The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh will be released on blu-ray to accompany the home video release of the 2011 Pooh feature. Maybe throw in a few of those DTV pooh films, gotta milk it for all its worth seems to be the new catchphrase.
