hiddin names on ebay?

Post by bradhig »

Check this out. I lost because it ended in the middle of the night but the winning bidder has *** in their name Since when does ebay hide user names?

I've noticed since I've been bidding on auctions. Last year. So, for at least one year now. But probably for longer than that.

They do that to keep the winning bidder a secret. I gather that bidding is very competitive.

It's gonna be a while before another one of those posters shows up on ebay.

Its been like this for a while. It's to protect the winning bidder from threats by losing bidders or bribery (among other things). I actually received a threat before so I'm glad they did this.

Lol, so did I. I guess some people just don't like being outbid.

It made me suspicious when I saw because I never saw that before. Anyone know of any online sports places I might find a poster like that? Like I said in the olympics thread I am a big Bonnie Blair fan and that photo was from Calgary 1988. Reminds me of a dream in which some characters from the original Battlestar Galactica are driving in one of those snowram vehicles and come upon the saddledome and I think Adama said "Calgary where life began."

It's been a couple of years at least. I figured the main concern was that the losing bidders were often confronted by other sellers with the same item, making offers to sell outside of ebay (which is not only against their policy, but prevents ebay from making any money from the transactions).

Yeah it's been like that for a while now.

The only bad part about that is that they have to do it because people are so messed up that they'd actually threaten someone who won something that they didn't
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.
