WHEEEE! I'm so excited for this year! It's going to be a great one! I mean, this is the year I leave high school and finally go to college!

By the way, what's everyone's New Year's resolutions?

Mine is to come out of my shell, stop being so shy and insecure, and let the world know that I'm fab-u-lous! :D

Happy 2010!!!

I, too, am graduating from high school and going to college. If I had a resolution, it would probably be to find someway to express myself and show others who I really am. And to also discover who I want to be on this journey called "life." For some reason, I'm thinking this'll be a pretty good year.

Happy New Year!

Let 2010 be the 1st day of the rest of your life!

As for my resolution, well one of the biggest ones is to be more assertive with being a b-word. Haha. I'm usually really friendly and nice, which makes people walk over me, take advantage, or talk to me anyhow they want. This year, I'm going to stand up for myself, speak my mind, and work towards making my career dreams come true.

my resolution....to lose weight and get healthy...which I have lost 18 pounds already....I ws 479 a month ago and a week ago I was 447......I would try weight loss surgery but it be too much of a risk because of my other medical conditions...even the Lap ban is a no no....but I've just cut back a lot on what I eat and if im not hungry I've finally learned how to master not eat just fo the sake of eating..

Also I hope I find a new career.....Turkey looks good (I would go more ino that discussion but for legal reasons I can't :P )

In the meantime, I plan on having the best years of my life.

I am incredibly tired but happy because I had a great New year's Eve with my family.

Question: Do you guys have any New Years Eve rituals?

I did a ton of them this year for the hell of it...

First, I took a quarter and put it in my shoe. This is meant to bring a lot of money, prosperity and luck. By the end of the evening, the quarter was pure foot sweat :p .

Then, I wrote down all the bad things that happened in 2009. Then at midnight, I burned the piece of paper, symbolizing that I am forgetting the past and preventing the bad things from happening again in the new year.

Later, I took a big jug of water, stood outside of the house and tossed the water out to the drive way. This represents all the tears and sadness experienced in the last year, and tossing it out means that you are keeping sadness away from the year.

Finally, I wrote down all of my wishes for the new years. Then folded the piece of paper and kept it hidden till New Years' Eve. Then at midnight, I took the paper out, opened it up and read all of my wishes. As a way of "helping" it out, I recreated the balcony scene from Princess and the Frog. I put the paper close to my heart, I looked up to the stars and said "Please, please, please...Make my dreams for the new year come true!".

Corny, I know, but I love these sort of things. :)

I'd tell you my rituals, but you wouldn't want to hear them. :P

Happy New Year, everyone.

And for those in the timezones where it's still 2009, better hurry up on the goodbyes of the previous year!

I fell asleep around ten last night . . . I must be getting old. :p Oddly enough, I woke up right before midnight. And went right back to bed after saying "Happy New Year" to a sleeping Rey.

I suppose I can make at least one resolution. Although I'm sure I could do more, I believe losing about 50 pounds this coming year would be very reasonable, and would put me in a great place after the rest of the weight I've lost. :)

As for New Year's resolutions, I'm going to quote something Anaïs Nin once said:

"I made no resolutions for the New Year. The habit of making plans, of criticizing, sanctioning and molding my life, is too much of a daily event for me."

There you go! :)
