The Parent Trap (1998)

Post by poco »

All,

Yes, indeed... I saw the Parent Trap live action at Wal-Mart will a whole host of other movies for 14.44. Apparently the live action of Parent Trap is OOP on our discussion board. I even went to Amazon.com today and it is out of stock.

For all that want that title and don't have it, I suggest you get to Wal-mart and pick it up. I couldn't believe the price and they have A LOT of titles now.

Of the re-makes, this one wasn't too bad. But I very much like the original better!

my guess, if it is out of print, that they are prepping a blu-ray release for sometime this christmas or next spring.

This thread was created in 2003, when Disney did put the original DVD (for the 1998 version) out of print. It got a quiet re-release a year later (removing the purple "Widescreen" banner), then was replaced by the Special Double-Trouble Edition in 2005.

Just wanted to say that I watched this movie even before I knew there was an "original" version.

To me, it's one of the best remake of a movie. I don't know why if its because I saw this one first, but I find it superior to the version from the 1960s.

Same with Annie. I like the Disney remake better than the 1982 version...even though I saw the 1982 version first.

The director said she supervised a new color timing in March. It was probably only for Disney+. It's unlikely it'll get a physical release.
