Terminator Salvation - DVD 1 Disc set only?

I was just browsing Amazon looking at when the various summer movies are hitting DVD and Blu-Ray. I checked out Terminator Salvation and it looks like it's getting just a single disc release. Looks like it's going to be devoid of bonus features - they could've at least included Christian Bale's on-set tirade or the remix of it.

The movie is slated to hit home video on Dec 1. Anybody know if there will be a 2-disc set?

There won't be a two-disc DVD, unless there's a store-exclusive bonus disc somewhere. The only two-disc set (actually three) will be for the Blu-Ray. Disc 1 is the theatrical version, Disc 2 is the Director's cut, and Disc 3 is Digital Copy.

I think this is the wierdest DVD release this year - just because there really isn't a standard 1-disc or 2-disc set. That also goes for Angels and Demons where they are offering a Theatrical release and an Extended edition on Tuesday.

It's too bad with the Terminator series we will never get a boxed set because each movie was done by a different company.

I got the first 3 Terminators, so I'll be picking this one up (ya, I'm a completist). I just wish the first Terminator would get a better DVD release, than the one that's currently out there.

Anyone know if the half-hour of bonus content are the two featurettes ("The Moto-Terminator" and "Reforging the Future") or if they'll be the 11 Focus Points features (available as regular features instead of branching from the film)?

But you never know. The companies may come together for some mega boxset, like how they did for the Oliver Stone boxset from 2004 (which had all his movies from that were distributed from MGM, Fox, Columbia, Universal, Artisan, Trimark, and Warner).

Ditto. I enjoy the features on the flipper-disc Special Edition, but wouldn't mind seeing it as a two-disc set. Maybe with a new commentary featuring James Cameron, Linda Hamilton, and Michael Biehn.

You really need to think about going to Blu-Ray. They have just released a marvelous "The Terminator" on blu-ray (the third edition, the other two were basically bare-bones, but this one rocks). The picture is sharper and better in detail, and the sound is just down right amazing.

If you decide to go Blu, then make sure that you buy the version with the 3-D cover, and check the back for the special features. Same with "Terminator 2 Judgement Day", you want to make sure you get the "Skynet Edition" and not the other released version. The difference is the print of the movie. The standard Blu-Ray release of "T-2" was only the theatrical version, while the 'Skynet' version is the 159 minute version, plus all the extra features.

It's too bad that they may not release a lot of the features for this "Salvation" release, but I will wait and buy it used at CD Tradepost on Blu-Ray and then hope for a "Special Edition" down the road.

And notice that nowhere does it say anything about the T2 being the Special Edition of the film. I will hope that we blokes here in the States will get a bos set with tons of extras, but for now I will just settle for the individual versions of the films.
