Poor Mickey, Fantasmic just can't go off without a hitch these days...

Hook seems content to just taunt Peter from the rope ladder, whilst Maleficent is obscenely tall.

Still, it's nice when they have a back-up plan, such as when the Mark Twain is out of commission...

Interesting videos. I guess even Mickey, with all of his magic, has his off days.
Still, it always amazes me when I've seen the show at WDW how Mickey changes his costume so fast and gets from the Steamboat to the top of the mountain so fast during the finale, and then does another quick costume change and a second later he's on the bottom level of the stage. As I see it, there are only 2 possible explanations:
1) Mickey really is magic, OR
2) There is an elaborate system of trap doors and backstage passageways, which combine with some sort of tearaway costumes to create the effect. Which still, if this is the case, requires a great deal of skill and coordination for Mickey to pull this off so quickly!
Is there nothing that Mouse can't do?

"Feed the birds, tuppence a bag"- Mary Poppins
"How high does the sycamore grow? If you cut it down, then you'll never know"- Pocahontas
"I do not make films primarily for children. I make them for the child in all of us, whether he be six or sixty. Call the child innocence." - Walt Disney

I like how in the "Stop button" video the woman looks at the camera and says "This is Disneyland??", almost as if she expects EVERYTHING to run super duper smoothly even though in reality everything is done by humans and human created contraptions.
I think Fantasmic being an ambitious show the chance of it having issues and difficulties are higher than normal since it involves water effects, water projections, pyrotechnics, dancers and special effects, all going on at once.

Awesome videos! I never realized how important that river boat was until I saw the characters dancing around onstage looking cheesy as heck. Of course, Fantasmic! could never be cheesy... :
These videos remind me of when Festival of the Lion King at Animal Kingdom randomly ended mid-show. It got really quiet, all the characters left, and we were told to leave. Crazy stuff.

Fantasmissed...
Am I the only one who kind of would've like to see Maleficent as just a really tall, perhaps bigger version of herself in the original film's climax? Then she'd be like the tale's ogre mother...but the tale also had dragons that pulled the good fairy's chariot, so...
But I really like how she looked in the video, trying to thwart Mickey's ball of magic, and then you see her get attacked and she's flailing...

Is there any video of the WDW dragon not going back into the mountain for the finale? I have never seen it, but I am told that it basically sits there lifelessly while the rest of the show finishes.
Without the Prince to pick up and spin Snow White, it looks like she just does the WDW version of the choreography.

Yes, you're probably the only one. I hated giant Tia Dalma and giant Ursula.Disney Duster wrote:Am I the only one who kind of would've like to see Maleficent as just a really tall, perhaps bigger version of herself in the original film's climax?

That's hot.
