Rejoice Here Too! Wings of Desire is going Criterion!

I got a kick out of Mickeyfan1990's labeling a thread as "Rejoice!", so I'm rejoicing too as I read at TheDigitalBits that The Criterion Collection has acquired the rights to Wim Wenders' Wings of Desire and is releasing it on Blu-Ray as well as re-releasing it on DVD (MGM released it in 2003, but it went OOP last year).

Release date is October 20, 2009

Special Features according to Criterion's website will be the following, and items in italic are from the old MGM DVD.

* New, restored high-definition digital transfer, supervised and approved by director Wim Wenders (with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack on the Blu-ray edition)
