Boom! acquired comic book license for Mickey and gang

Post by rspezzano »

Boom! has acquired the comic book license for Mickey, Donald and the gang. Boom! currently publishes comics based on Cars, The Incredibles, Toy Story, and Muppets. This September they will add Walt Disney Comics and Stories #699 and Mickey Mouse and Friends #297.
The work will be done through Disney Italia, who has been very active producing comics for the european market.
They will begin with new stories and WDC&S will deal with a more superhero world (Duck Avenger, Super Goof, etc) while Mickey Mouse and Friends will deal in more of a d&d world (Mickey is a student of the great wizard Grandalf...)

The books will be full color, 24 pages, and a cover price of $2.99.

I'm glad to see Disney comics are back!

I've gotten into Disney Comics the last year and love them! This is rather cool news, thanks for sharing!

It is an interesting direction they are taking the characters. Have you read any of the Donald Duck Adventures digests that Gemstone did? In issue 3, they had a rpg style story where Mickey plays a thief, Donald plays a knight, and Goofy plays a wizard.

WDC&S #698 was the last issue, and it had the 1st part of a mickey story. I hope we see its conclusion in the near future.

This sounds interesting, though I have not read many Disney comics.
