The Contemporary for it's rooms, restaurants, transportation and especially location. Within walking distance of MK, monorail to Epcot, Grand Floridian, Polynesian, boat to Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness campground, bus to DHS, AK, DTD, BB, TL. The buses are shared with the other monorail hotels but they start and stop and Contemporary first. Shopping and arcade and not bad either. Pool is bland and Shallow though.
Runner up, Yacht Club / Beach Club Resorts.

You can't walk from GF to MK and it's arcade is not as good. Poly is close enough to TTC that you can walk there and no transfer for the Epcot monorail line, but you may hear noise from the speedway.
Contemporary is the best hotel I've personally stayed at and it's the Unofficial Guide's pick for hotel rooms. The South Garden wing rooms are also the least expensive of the on monorail hotel rooms.

Of the 3 hotels I've stayed at (Polynesian, Boardwalk and Yacht Club) I liked the Yacht Club the best because I like walking to Epcot and DHS. The buses were convenient to MK and DAK. And it's got a great BAR!
This year I'm staying at the Beach Club.
In DL, it's the Grand Californian always for me!
At Universal Orlando I LOVE the Portofino Bay! I think it's nicer than any Disney deluxe, imo.

HOTELS
I have been fortunate to stay at all three of the monorail resorts and I think the Grand Floridian is my favorite, to date. The ambiance would be my reason, especially during the holiday season!
A note to those who might be interested in staying at one of these resorts, I have found the price differential between these three options to be minimal. In order of expense: Grand Floridian - Polynesian - Comtemporary. The order is probably no big surprise to most travelers, but the difference in cost, from low to high, was less than $200 per package, in my case. Worth looking into.

I think it completly depends on what u want to do, if u plan on staying at or close to ur hotel i think Boardwalk would be best. If u plan on saving money I would say the Pop Century (even though I've never stayed there). Then if u plan to go to parks 24/7 I think Conteperary(Contemperary is my fav by the way, it was hard to pick between it and GF.)
I could go on and on but im sure no one wants that, but if u tell me what ur looking for im sure i could help u a lot. If anyone has Q. WDW Im sur i can help, and I would absoulutly love too. Hope I can help!!

I've only stayed at three of the on property hotels, but from the ones I've been to, I enjoyed Disney's Caribbean Beach the most. It has a beautiful beach and enormous lake in the middle of the resort, along with a wonderful pool. While not maybe as detailed as the Magic Kingdom resorts, it's still very beautifully themed.
Also, if you get the chance to head over, I recommend checking out Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground and Resort. If you're a nature lover like me, the trails and the rustic atmosphere of the place is simply beautiful. And it has a wonderful western revue/ dinner show in Pioneer Hall called the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue.

That place is freaking BEAUTIFUL! I went there with some friends once to do some photography.
I haven't been to too many Disney hotels, but I once stayed at Coronado Springs, that place was really cool!
