Family Guy: Disney World Episode

Post by drfsupercenter »

So, I was watching TBS last night and was surprised when there was actually an episode of Family Guy that made fun of Disney/Disney World.

And I'm even more surprised how most people I ask hadn't seen it. So I thought I'd share a link.

http://www.familyguynow.com/watch.php?id=416

I know it's just some crappy fansite, but it works. The Disney part starts a little over halfway through... If you seek to about 13:47 that's the beginning of that part.

Anyway, this is now one of my favorite episodes... it's pretty hilarious! Hope you guys like it!

--EDIT--

Apparently that link cuts in and out, so here's another one I found:
http://www.familyguyx.net/episode/the_c ... link_1136/

If that one gets taken down too I'll just host a video player myself

Howard Ashman:
He gave a mermaid her voice, a beast his soul, and Arabs something to complain about
Arabian Nights (Unedited)
Savages (Uncensored)
If it ain't OTV, it ain't worth anything!

I'm a huge Family Guy fan, and I loved the WDW episode. It's my favorite episode of that season, and even though it poked fun at Disney, it was great.

Is this a new episode or an already existing episode?

If its about Peter taking Stewie to Disney World and it makes fun of "Its a small world" then yes already seen it.

It's already existing... from season 4.
It was just new to ME.

And yes, it's the one that makes fun of It's A Small World (among other things).

You suppose the guys at Disney were in any way angered by this episode when they saw this?

No. You know why? Because the episode had Mohjamed (sp?) and people were outraged by it.

This episode was the inspiration for the South Park event "Cartoon Wars", in which the USA feared it would be hit by a nuclear war because of Mohjamed's appearance in Family Guy.

So in short people were far more worried about Mohjamed than the use of real children in "Its a small world" :p .

From what I remember there's nothing to do with Mohammed at all in this episode, theres an Arab Disney World guard (an Aladdin parody) that peter tries to distract by saying "Look, a woman learning!" but thats it.

That's actually an Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom reference. ;)

I'm not a big fan of the TV show, but I've never seen that Disney World episode when that show is on WPIX (PIX 11).

Actually, when the guard sends the guard he says "Get him Mohamed!". The reference alone annoyed people.

I love the confrontation with Michael Eisner at the end:

"you betrayed the shareholders!!!" (punches him in the face)

and the "Disney stock slide ride". That whole episode was hilarious. The small world stuff was awesome. Family Guy isn't nearly as funny nowadays. Still enjoyable, but nothing like that episode.

Yeah, that was a decent episode. I remember another episode that made fun of Disney sequels with Aladdin IV: Jafar Gets Glasses.

That reminds me of the "Journey to The Disney Vault" sketch on SNL. :P

I don't get it. Not funny at all. Badly scripted and even more badly drawn and animated!
(I prefer the Simpsons' Epcot spoof over this any day).

The Simpsons already did a Disney World parody. Roseanne also had a great Disney World episode too. Then, Full House and Step by Step had Disney World episodes as well.

I think the whole thing is played out.

I personally thought that was a lame joke.

The problem with Family Guy is that the "non tangent" jokes aren't funny and go on and on.

For example, the Jafar one just had him checking the lenses and going "Hmmm...", with lots of awkward silence in between.
